Forums - Gaming Discussion - Where is Street Fighter Alpha ? ? ?

Street Fighter Alpha imo was the best in the series but Capcom seems to be continously remaking and doing DLC for the Street Fighter 4 series.  I am not a huge fan of the SF4 series but I guess it's still fun.  Are we ever gonna see Alpha get revived or is capcom totally headed in the wrong direction with this series among others(Megaman, Resident Evil)?

Alpha was from a different time when the industry had a place for lots of different 2D fighting games, budgets were smaller, and arcades were alive. In this day and age, it doesn't make sense for them to have two separate street fighter lines. They only way I could see this happening is if they want to make Alpha as a portable line of the franchise and keep SFIV-V on consoles.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 is by far the best Street Fighter game I have played, but there might not be room for it in this day and age.

I wish we would get another one. Alpha 3 is my favorite street fighter game.

What is SF alpha?

What's the difference between Street Fighter and Street Fighter Alpha? I've only ever played one Alpha game and it just seemed like normal o.O

Differences are in the character universe, storyline, moves, combo systems, animation etc.

My favorite series is the Street Fighter 3. Third Strike is the pinacle of fighting games IMO. SFIV only got dumber and flashier.

Alpha 3 Max on pspGo was so AWESOME.......

Alpha 3 was played to death by me.... on several systems.

I really miss that style of fighter. KI can't fill the void.

I miss Street Fighter Ex :(

Akira were supposedly working on a 3DS version but it's been like 3 years and we haven't had any further info, gonna have to assume the worst.

True. At this point they might as well release the source code and allow fans to make sequels for these games. they will never make another...
