Forums - Microsoft Discussion - [Youtube] 3$ CPM for saying good stuff about Xbox One

Tagged games:

Pretty good marketing from M$, but the hard critiscism from youtuber may bomb it tough. French youtubers are already ranting on this one.

I don't have a problem with this, because they're not stopping you commenting on the game or the platform how you want.

So what if I just trash talk the XBO and say how much it sucks? Would I still get payed?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Didn't they do this a few months ago as well?

Youtubers seems to thing you have to say only good stuff tough. If that's not the case that's pretty good, but expensive for MS

Same as above, we don't really know for sure right now. But i'm pretty sure we'll hear a lot of good about xbox one in the next few days from youtubers.

$3 for every thousand views with a view max of 1.25 million views for the campaign...just $3,750 allocated for the entire ad campaign. Rather weak actually. If 100 YouTube accounts agree to this and they average out evenly among page views, they'd get just $37.50 each for almost 4 weeks of traffic.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

So just basically if you see any video with that tag of "XB1M13" you can disregard anything positive they're saying about the game or system since it's just for money. That tag is the same as how advertisements for slim jims during WWE need to have "ADVERTISEMENT" at the bottom just to point out it's not the views of the people in the video just a paid advert.

MS is in a sorry state if they have to resort to shit like this.

Perhaps they should give you 3 dollars and you might think differently? :D at least maybe turn that comment into a positive one?

Paying for influence on social media is not new tho, it's just that when it gets out that companies are doing it a lot of people get annoyed.

- fans of other systems will claim that all media regarding the system in a positive light is tainted by the influnce of money

- fans of the system themselves who are aware of the offer of cash for good stuff will make them more warey about sounding too optimistic in cases rather than be attacked for just loving the games for the sake of loving them

- other fans of the system who already have games reviews or videos up which are getting a lot of hits will be upset that they could be earning cash from them if they had waited to be positive and they're now basically doing what has become a paid job for free.
