Back in the 90's anything with "Squaresoft" on the box was almost a gaurenteed awesome game with an amazingly beautiful soundtrack.  It was pretty much a must buy on day 1 even if you didn't know anything about the game. 

I personally can't say the same for Square-Enix.  It seems Square Enix is out of touch with rpg's and doesn't really know what the gamer wants anymore.  The have dragged the Final Fantasy name through the mud and re released and ported almost every old Final Fantasy game to every device and are just milking old Squaresoft titles for money.... Square Enix needs to get its act together before it's too late

Tbh seems like to me its just one team over there that has lost touch and doesn't know what they're doing.  The original KH team and the BBS team are still good imo, even if the orginal KH team is taking forever to push one game out making it so KH3 took forever to start development and causing KH fans a lot of grief...but I digress. 

They used to make  great games in awesome franchises like Chrono, Mana, FF,  Front Mission, but now...... not so much..  They have to rely on Crystal Dynamics and Eidos since   SE developed games are irrelevant in the west ( FF is on a decline).

Hm. I don't know. Squaresoft had a better track record but SE made my favorite Dragon Quest game (VIII), so... I dont know. I'd prob go with SE because my fave game was made from it

Please prove to me that it wasn't the square guys that came up with all the innovations that made up all FF games since FFX.
It's always the same bullshit. A company makes a great game. Then the company makes another game that isn't that great and it's CLEARLY somebody else's fault.
Grow up and accept that every person with a creative job changes and always tries to create something new. It's only natural that that something new is not the same as past works.

But Dragon Quest VIII was made by Level 5 and the Armor Project, Square Enix only published the game

I really don't know, in the Square soft's side I have chrono cross and xenogears. On the other hand, Square Enix made Kingdom hearts II (probably my fav game of all time), BBS and DQ VIII. I can't choose...

One made Chrono Cross, the other didn't.

Eh, even still I like Square Enix. They get a lot of uneccessary hate.They produce decent enough games, even if they dont seem up to par with how they used to be.
