Can't wait for that wii music 2 announcement and anyone saying Nintendo going third party and isn't joking is an idiot.

I'm just going to address this one more time.  Nintendo isn't in the money loosing buisiness.  Just because Nintendo has more money now then Sega did when they were forced to go 3rd party doesn't mean that it's not in Nintendo's best interest to become a third party developer/publisher.  Nintendo mega fans react emotionally to the suggestion that Nintendo should or may be restructuring their buisiness to meet their only real goal, which is to make money.  Nintendo could continue to be in the hardware buisiness for the next 40 years, but is it worth the title of "hardware producer" to be loosing money in a modern world where the video game console is far from the only place to play video games.  When I bought my NES, SNES, and N64, those systems were my only access to video games.  Today devices that play video games are litterally (not actually litterally) falling out of our ears.

Anyways, thanks for calling me an idiot.

Um, are you guys going to tell him or should I?

What are you going to tell me?

They have not even brought them to the Wi U E shop yet (most of them anyway)

IF they were to bring most/all of their games to the Wii U eshop they would increase revenue asap-   it would even sell a few systems to boot

I think a Nintendo branded tablet is coming, that's been all but confirmed by some guy at Nintendo who leaked they were working on educational tablet software. I can see a Nintendo branded phone too. It would make a lot of sense to partner with an Android hardware maker and get a high-end unique product out quickly. They could do some serious damage in the iPad Mini market.

Then, develop a powerful home console that connects to the Nablet like Wii U does, but as an optional interface. The console itself would have a simple input device but lots of processing power.

I suggested something similar in a different thread: make a Nintablet that can function as the gamepad for Wii U, make a Wii U sku WITHOUT the gamepad for $200, so that you can use the Nintablet instead.

If they made a phone, would they create one themselves, or would they team up with someone? And who would that be? I won't lie, a NinSony phone with games from them both would be pretty cool.... IF the phone has buttons.

Come on add ons have a history of failure on consoles.  You want the to fail liek sega ?  Wiiu is already a screwd up eco sustem, tablet pro controller and maybe waggle???? wtf which is it.  Now a super wii pad...

Why create a phone when you can release your software on Ios and android....

This wouldn't quite be an add on. It would be its own thing, it would be a product in and of itself with games and all, that could function as a Wii U gamepad. Kind of like if you could use your iPad with your Wii U.

Because creating a new phone would mean total control for Nintendo, and the current phones just don't do games well - at least not Nintendo kind of games.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

VC on mobile.

BOOM

Keep them the same prices as Wii U/3DS VC and loads of cash for Nintendo.

Keep the dedicated games for Wii U and 3DS.

exactly!  Who's buying a WiiU/3DS for SMB1-3, World, 64, or Sunshine?  Who's buying it for Ocarina, Majora's, ALttP, LoZ?  The answer to these and many other questions is simply no one!  Or at least not enough to make a difference.  Continue to develope for your new platforms but stop being concerned about where 3 generation old content is being played.

Because Nintendo gets about 65% of their revenue from hardware.  Educate yourself.

Great strategy given their wiiu sales, and even handheld sales are falling leaving them nothing to fall back on.

Educate yourself on limited revenue streams and what happens when one fails.

Ride it all the way to bankruptcy.

Handhelds actually doing OK, just not enough to cover the home console side.  But the solution is hardly to give up after two weak years, but rather to refocus the business.  Without the hardware side, Nintendo would be a fraction of the company that it is today.

Np... Idiot!

There is that illogical emotional reaction again, sigh.  Anyways, reported.

And yet you report me... Interesting... The reason why I don't think Nintendo should go third party is that they need their Hardware to make Nintendo Quality games... Just look at Sega, one of the main reasons that they don't make good games anymore is cause they don't have their own hardware to work with that goes with their own specifications... They have to deal with whatever the other console manufactures have and have to learn new code and how to work with the OS

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

This is good for no one but Nintendo haters, Nintendo´s charm is the fact you can only play their games on Nintendo machines =/

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Nintendo get's the vast majority of their net revenue from software.  The Wii U is sold at a loss.
