Right now they need to pretty much halt all advertising, and then launch an SKU with:

-$200 cost
-64GB+ storage
-No tablet, just a controller
-SSB
-MASSIVE advertising push

If they do this I could see them at least making back some of that market-share...

-SSB? Bundled with Super Smash Bros? For $199.99? 64 GB not 32 GB? More likely to be $279.99.  Expect a Wii U Basic model  with the Gamepad at $229.99, or for your price, the one I recommended for BeElite.

Exactly.  Which is why they will continue to sell horribly.  It's not even a third as strong as next gen, it has a pitiful amount of storage, and it has an inferior online service and library to the PS3.  It. Will. Not. Sell.

An 8 year old console has a larger library of games than a one year old console? No kidding? Wii U Is doOmedz!!!

Wii U is probably 1/3 the power of the PS4, but horsepower isn't the reason it selling badly. Marketing is the key factor to get attention from the masses.

Doesn't stop it from being true lol!

P.S.  There is no "Probably" about it.  It is possible to actually do the math, and the Wii U is about 1/6th to 1/9th the strength of the PS4.

PS4 is a king in horsepower no doubt, but the Wii U isn't that much behind as you say. Wii U's architecture is extremely efficient and with enough effort and talent, it can almost match a XB1 or PS4 tailored game, just with less particle effects and slightly less refined texture details. Now if the Wii U had 8 cores instead of the 3 it has, it would topple both of them easily.

No, but a price drop to $250 (Dropping to $200 at this point is extremely idiotic.) with anything that has Mario in it bundled would do good.

....and if it had significantly more powerful GPU than it presently does.

I agree the 6-9* doesn't mean much because it doesn't equate to games that are 6-9 times better looking (whatever that means) but as efficient as the hardware (reportedly) is, it is still less powerful on all fronts when compared with the PS4 and XB1.

Ditch the tablet pad. That shaves $70 or more off the production cost. Make the Wiimote+ and a Pro Controller shell (another cost saving move) the standard controller.

Lower the price to $199.99 in April/May alongside Mario Kart 8.

Dramatically increase emphasis on digital download titles like NES Remix and increase the Virtual Console lineup exponentially. Many more SNES and N64 games should be available.

I think that's their best bet now to salvage this trainwreck.

Make a portable tablet that can handle some Wii U ports, that will allow them to recoup some of their development costs/opportunity costs on some of their Wii U games because they're probably going to massively undersell on a lot of their games.

I'd also look at cutting third party licensing fee costs, and waiving them entirely for third party exclusives.

IMHO if they could re-launch the Wii U without a tablet and a larger HDD 160GB-320GB with SM3DW and a Pro Controller for 199.99 I would buy it. They'll never do that.

The problems as I see them is that they have a tablet, and all their eggs went into that basket. You add in the mockishly doubting of 3rd party's to Ninty's cap? Well they all just turned their backs on Nintendo for GREENER/BLUER PASTURES so to speak. Nintendo thought the 3rd party's were bluffing them the whole time, nope. When Nintendo heard some 3rd partys tell them they didn't like it, they could have listened couldn't THEY have? Did they? Nope. Now Nintendo knows, and YOU the CONSUMER KNOW that the system will never be inticing to casuals or 3rd party's. This is a tablet the casuals don't desire at all, and NEVER will I.

This is the problem, they can't hop in a Delorean with MJF and pull this shit off.  They can't get 3rd party's back with the WIi U. And NO system ever in the history of gaming will pull it off, not even the great NINTENDO. It's over.

Their realistic option? Drag the system on, however pathetically. Keep releasing whatever is in the pipeline, and set up a division that will build their next gen console that the hardcores want, because if they just want casuals that era is over and was swallowed whole by other companies. To get the hardcores they will need NEXT GEN truley NEXT GEN NINTENDO games and NEXT GEN 3rd Party titles, With XB1 and PS4 already paving the road I see them to late to that game and to late to the current game any way you slice it. Nintendo has cornered themselves in. I don't think they can even get out alive now. It's like they have terminal stage 4 cancer.

They have to partner with Sony or go 3rd party. They won't, and they will ride out the Wii U and try to keep hold of the portable market the best they can until they're pushed out there as well. I say 5 years of straight losses is definetly their path. Then they change, but what do they change to? It doesn't matter they will simply sell out, and retire or die rich old game makers/marketers/pr men regardless. It was a fun ride Nintendo, but you blew it with the Wii U completely. There's no going back now. GG.

1/3 is faaaar too generous. PS4 has 5 times the amount of significantly faster memory. 5 more highly clocked modern CPU cores. 6 times the raw GPU bandwidth.
The WiiU right now struggles to offer real value against the PS3. It will be complete massacre when PS4 games hit their stride.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Here's one that could possibly help it in late 2014/ early 2015.

The all new Wii U Pro Set. Wii tailored it for U. With it's glossy, yet sleek silver finish, 250GB of HDD, and games you cant get anywhere else, for just $299.99.

I like it and all but that is a major flaw. Nintendo are yet to deliver enough great games you cant get anywhere else to make WiiU worth it to most people. Nintendo need to invest in new studios so they can have these games or they have to stop supporting 3DS, my choice is invest in new studios.

Lol, no. Its easy to think that with artsy games like 3D World and Wind Waker HD. But in the realistic department every launch game on PS4 thoroughly trounces X, Bayonetta or any other realistic 3D game you care to mention. Little Big Planet PS4, Kingdom Hearts 3 and Ratchet and Clank will destroy WiiU in the cartoony graphics department. Full HD to boot.

wiiu with a pro controller, tablet sold as extra, nsmbu included
