What are we all thinking for lifetime X360 figures? For calendar 2013 (Jan-Dec), Microsoft shipped 7m systems, and the holiday quarter (with Xbox 1 competing against it) pushed X360 down 40%. I think best case sceanrio for 2014 is ~4m X360s, and then another ~2m in 2015, ~0.5m in 2016. That would put X360 right around 90m lifetime, in 11 years on the market. Probably would have done ~70m without Kinect.

another 30% drop YOY puts it at 88m shipped, far higher than your lifetime total. I agree 360 is dropping hard but it did only drop 30% this year afterall.

No way it is only dropping 30% this year.

50% for both 360 and PS3.  I can assure you.

Disagree, Q1 will be telling!

Even that would put it at 86.5m shipped FYI

MS stated before release of Xone that they are aiming at selling another 25 m of X360 consoles so there will probably be some major price cuts along the way.

How is Microsoft going to sell another 25 million Xbox 360s? Mehdi said that Microsoft will be "hitting new price points"

I understand that I need to alter the numbers and I will once they are here.

I dont disagree the lifetime limits will be higher,  but I also maintain the drops will be at the percentage levels I am saying.  Sales dont drop in a linear way, they accelerate.

Joke aside, I suppose both 360 and PS3 will be around for another few years. In many countries the just becoming affordable and they have a great selection of games.

And the monthly PS3- and 360-games via PS+ and XBL Gold will also help to keep the interest in the "old" games alive. Not everyone has already played every good title for that systems.
