PS4 is not beeing sold at a loss, the cost to manufacture it is 381$, they removed the PSeye from the package to cut the 100$ of the price and make it cheaper than the ONE, Sony said theyd never sell a console at a loss again.
Dont make stuf up. Also all that everything you listed mean is that the PS4 is a better deal than the One for consumers and Sony isnt making a resurgence cause it never went away, PS3 didnt sell like PS2 but it was pretty sucessfull (sold more than the 360), it sucked financially tough cause of how expensive the Cell processor was.

The gap is in favor of the PS4 for while... so do you think Xbone will catch PS4 in US this month? |
I meant the gap in numbers of units sold each week, I know the PS4 is ahead overall on the USA due to insane first week sales, I expect the one to at least tie overall with the PS4 on USA after the Japan launch, but this situation wont last long cause as soon as PS4 demand finally stop demanding half the production to go to Europe the number of PS4s sold on the USA will skyrocket for a few weeks, then stabilise again at somethign more or less the same as the One sells.
Thats my opinion tough I can be completly wrong hehe.
As long as Sony keeps up with stock, it should be quite easy. It seems the demand for the One started to die off after Xmas was over, as it became readily available at retailers. The PS4 still has quite a bit of pent up demand, as stock usually sells out within 24 hrs of becoming available.
It's also #2 in Amazon's Bestsellers of 2014, while the One is #12. And as you mentioned, Sony shipped more PS4's at the beginning of January, so hopefully it was a large shipment.
If supply exceeds demand for both consoles then yes. With both fully stocked PS4 will outsell XB1.
It's interesting to note that the PS4 sold more than the X1 in the third week of Dec. For me, that suggests that Sony put more units on shelves to grab the Christmas shoppers and in turn that suggests more people will buy the PS4 if it's in stock.
The PS5 Exists.

It could also mean that Sony flew in January stock that is missing now. At this time, Sony has to:
a) Feed America
b) Feed Europe
c) Feed Australasia
d) Bunker stock for Japan launch
That is a lot of battlefields to cover. Something has to give and I'm pretty sure Sony is not favouring the Americas. Probably they are trying to still be ahead by February ltd numbers-wise. On the other side, we have Microsoft who _has_ to start thinking about how long they can keep up with Sony's max. manufacturing pace (insert 100 anectotal "XBox Ones are starting to pile up in my shop").
I think end of January numbers will show who was "bluffing" and who is not...

381 says insider, ignoring distribution and storage cost. Would be 500-600 $, so 100-200 $ loss if these numbers were true.

Yes, I can agree with that. It's going to be an interesting January that's for sure. Can MS afford to stuff the channels yet again? I highly doubt it when there are already systems sitting on shelves.

Ye theres no way in hell Sony is selling this thing at a 200$ loss considering the financial situation the company is in, and if thats the price of the PS4 whats the Ones price 800$ ?
