Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox one/Playstation 4 in Japan?Wii U easy win?

I think for Sony/Ms, rest of the world is easy = CodGtaAssasinCreedFpsKillEverything games will sell consoles. How about Japan?

Early last gen was interesting. All eyes were in Japan, since PS2 era: Square,Capcom,Konami,Namco,Sony, etc..These were da shit. Most of the games that came from these puplishers, sold equally millions world wide.

Thats why Microsoft tried REALLY hard to win Japan with some awesome jprgs, that did sell OK, but failed to impact in the long run..Then it gave up and wisely so.

Now we have big games like Cod,AC,GTA,Halo,Uncharted, that sell millions world wide, but maybe 200k-1m lifetime in Japan.

I don't really see anything that is going to be selling Ps4/Xbox ones in Japan, maybe sometime in the future with MGS/FF/KH.

All in all, I don't see why Sony/Ms should even care to make anything that would especially be pointed to Japanese market only.We see this on DS/Vita every month, because handleds are dominating Japan.Of course I would love to get every single game that is released in Japan, since most of those little titles are awesome.

Wii U seems to be doing fine.It has already many games for japanese market.I don't see why it would lose to Ps4...

Maybe Ps4 (and Xbox one also lol ) will actually be sold out and japanese have to buy games they wouldn't normaly buy, because there is nothing else to play.

Do you think Japanese home console market has to change, become like the rest of the world?Or is Japan DOOOMED?

Some guys are waiting big things from Sony studios, but Last of us/Uncharted won't sell in Japan. The last guardian maybe..?

joke thread?

Stop trying to lump Xbox with PlayStation when in comes to japan! Tf!

Any multiplat game will all pretty much be bought on PS

So PS has Final Fantasy and KH for Japan right now.

Sony also has Gran Turismo, Hot Shots Golf, and Parappa The Rapper for Japan also.

Crash Bandicoot may also be listed aswell when it is revealed to be in development for PS4 and the confirmation that the rumors of Crash being sold back to Sony were true. Only time will tell on that though.

The Wii U is beginning to struggle again, Media Create states that Wii U sales dropped to 14,020 compared to last weeks 73,178 in Japan. The PS4 will no doubt sell quite well in Japan and cause a shift in sales for its launch month, but the Wii U will fight to maintain a decent market share there.

The PS4 has to be the favorite in Japan. The Wii U has been doing BETTER there, but they haven't been doing well. Hopefully Nintendo's various partnerships with Japanese devs will help them succeed, but they need something new and exciting to really pull ahead.

I have no doubt that the Wii U's sales will drop dramatically in Japan leading up to the release of the PS4, as many will save money for the month of January and early February so they can purchase one. However, I do feel that with 2014s release calendar on the Wii U, it won't struggle as much as people are expecting. 2015, however......

Oh and i predict that the next gen Dragon Quest( The MONSTER of Japan) will see its return to PS home consoles this gen

Edit: excluding The Dragon Quest 10 port from Wii to Wii U

I agree with these points but I think PS4 will do good considering how popular the handhelds are.

The PS4 launches with a far lower price than the PS3 and will eventually see titles that are very popular in Japan such as Final Fantasy XIV (launch) and XV, Yakuza: Ishin (launch), Dynasty Warriors 8 (launch), Metal Gear Solid V, Resident Evil, Tekken, Winning Eleven, Kingdom Hearts, Ridge Racer, Devil May Cry, Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Digimon, One Piece, Mobile Suit Gundam, The Last Guardian, Gran Turismo, Hot Shots Golf, a lot of JRPGs and maybe even Crash Bandicoot, PaRappa the Rapper, The Legend of Dragoon, Arc the Lad, Wild Arms, Dragon Quest, Monster Hunter, Onimusha or Shenmue.

ps3 sold more units last week, so I think no sadly
