With exeption of Star Fox, Earthbound and F-Zero (Metroid if you count it) what good, old and dormant Nintendo IP's are there? Advance Wars is there I think, but I can't think of anything else.

There were two metroid games on wii so for me it doesn't count.

I really would rather Nintendo buy something old than resurrect their old franchises.

Legend of Dragoon comes leaping to mind. Can you imagine Legend of Dragoon 2 with Wii controls? I thought so. Unfortunately, it's kinda unlikely Sony would ever sign that one off, even if they haven't used it in two generations and appear to have no plans to use it in the future.

I would really like to see a 2D Metroid game done for either Wii U or 2DS. It's been a long time.

I would find it interesting if they did a Star Fox meets KotOR. Keep the traditional Star Fox gameplay but add in the ability to upgrade (weapons & abilities), level up Fox or other characters as well as their respective ships and include cities, ground missions,etc.

Overall I think it would work but lord knows that would be a long shot for Nintendo to do something like this.

The problem with Nintendo fans is they ask for new games in categories that are already well represented while major gaming genre categories go completely unserviced on the fledgling Wii U.

Racing is covered by Mario Kart
Platforming is covered by Mario 2D / 3D
Party is covered by Nintendo Land, Wario Ware, etc

What the Wii U needs more is RPG, Shooter, Adventure, Strategy, Sports, etc
