Serious Question, How Does One literally say this game is better than another if that person hasn't played both? .

Just weird to see especially when fan wars go on and i read comments like this game is better than that and realize how that person most likely never played the game -_- .

Ex: I cant say Fire Emblem Awakening is better than Persona 4 (comparing these 2 as both are highly praised for vita/3ds) if i haven't even played both games... That just makes me look like an idiot dont you agree? .

I wish some people stop making these stupid comments especially when it seems like its one game beats another only because its on their preferred choice of console/handheld!!!

i seen people pick games that have lower scores lol! beside meta= opinion for professional (biased)  reviewers :P

Ideally, yes, everyone would play through every game to judge them properly. However if I dislike a game, I'm not going to bother playing it through to the very end just so that I can say I dislike it, but I'll give it a go.

The other problem is, if someone is completely against liking a game, purely based on bias, they're hardly going to enjoy it even if they do try it.

It's honestly hard to compare some games like people try to do sometimes... Most cases, it's really an apple to oranges thing... Some people also like to compare games to elevate or lower them based on their own bias or agenda.

I think, without playing both games, one's opinion on which game is 'better' becomes completely invalid. Metacritic is a decent gauge to an extent, but it really doesn't account for personal tastes. It's one thing if Game A scores in the 60s, and Game B in the 90s. But if they're both within 10 points of each other, I honestly think using Metacritic as a gauge becomes worthless.

Personally, I think console warriors are the biggest factor to this. They have no intention of buying the system that Game A is on, and so rationalize it by saying the game released on their platform is the better one. Despite having only played the one game they prefer of the two.

Also, I could be wrong, but I think we were both irked by the exact same post. XD

Yes, if there is enough evidence you can. For example, The Ocarina of Time is a better game than Superman 64. I never played the latter.

Quality isn't entirely subjective. I don't have to play Aliens: Colonial Marines to say Bioshock Infinite is better, do I?

yeap lol. I play 90% nintendo games like FE for example. but just cuz i think its the best JRP on my 3ds i cant compare it to ni no kuni a game which is highly praised and i haven't played. thats just silly :)
