Alien lore and aliens are two different things.
We will likely never encounter little green men. But that doesn't mean we won't discover some other alien lifeform elsewhere. It could be bacteria, algae, a creature, or even a sentient being. But the more evolved it is, the less likely we are actually to find it.
I also sincerely doubt alien lifeforms would ever be significantly more advanced than ourselves. We are on a planet 4.5 million years old. The universe is 13 million years old. A lifeform would have needed to survive far longer than we have, in order to advanced far more than we have, and likewise in a far more violent universe than we exist in today.
For example, we as a species have 30,000 years before our Sun destroys the planet. Before we even get there, we have to surivive our dwindling natural resources. And then, in the same time-frame, we need to develop those technologies that allow us to travel to meet them. Unless we actively seek to develop the means to travel to distant planets, we will cease to exist in 30,000 years.
If we do manage that, and we are capable of transfering our species to another world, then within 4 million years we have another calamity to consider. The collision of our galaxy, the Miikyway Galaxy with the Andromedia Galaxy. The likelihood of humanity surviving this greatly depends on our ability to surivive going from planet to planet for millions of years until the two galaxies finally integrate and planetary collisions stop happening.
As far as Roswell and aliens. That's a complete joke. It never happened. There's a book available at your library regarding Roswell that actually goes into detail how the Roswell Incident started. The bottom line is, the incident wasn't originally reported or communicated to authorities. It was a story told after the fact (about a year I believe) and even then it was easily discredited because of the errors communicated. And for nearly 40 years it was forgotten until once again, the farmer that originally developed the story sold it to a tabloid (in the US these are fake news newspapers). Thus, the Roswell incident was rebirthed and made legend.
