My Internet service provider is ATT. Up until recently as long as you paid your bill you could DL and UL as much as you wanted. Now a change is putt up where you are granted 150GB per month and anything after that is 10 per 10 GB or something. This is bad. Bill is getting waaay to high and I need to restrict or limit DL which ranges from10-20GB per day!!!.  I have a typical computer wireless router set and I want to not allow Downloads anymore untill I get this sored out but I also dont want to cut myself off.

Anybody have a clue on how to go about this?

Don't you have like an account with them? In Canada, I can just go to my account and see how much data usage I used... Also, quit downloading German Scat Porn. They take up the most amount of space

Download everything through the network at work/school/starbucks

but 150gb should be enough.. unless you are going to buy all your game digital..

*shakes fist at everybody here* ... Guys, Im not asking for tips on lowerin GB Usage asking if there is some way I can disable DLing for other ppl in the house. I dont want anybody to be able to DL anything.

150GB on a home connection?

fuck that. My home is 350GB is its peak where you will get charged.

I've never reached that and my house uses it a lot including gaming and netflix.

I think you need to leave ATT and use a different provider. That is the only way.

Its not from basic downloading most likely.

web surfing its very minor
audio streaming like music is more
gaming is likely more
video streaming is worst, especially if HD

I doubt anyone is DL files that is killing you unless you all pirate the world a ton with movies/games. If that's the case, well change providers or buy you shit legally.

 

Is a neighbor using your wifi? did you secure your wifi with a decent pw? Try changing the pw and see who asks for the new one. But that will stop anyone from accessing.
