Forums - Sales Discussion - Uncharted is now a bigger IP Than Zelda

Doesn't really proof anything imo, the reason Skyward Sword sold so low is cause Nintendo required you to buy an attatchement to play the game, if uncharted 3 did the same its sales would have dropped too.  Better to just see how Uncharted 4 does agaisnt Zelda U.

Both are great, zelda has more wear on it and less new things to show, uncharted is always an adventure.

I'm sorry, but I can no longer hold my tongue. What new things have Uncharted done? I've just recently started playing them (I'm about 90% done with UC2 and have played UC1 all the way through), and I can't really see what the series as a whole does that hasn't been done before. Is it the cinematic cutscenes? Is it that Nathan is quite charming and witty in these cutscenes? Just please, somebody tell me! This is an honest question.

This can easily be explained as an opinion. I know its weird.

I'm not quite sure what part you addressed with your response...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

well see when Uncharted PS4 and Zelda WiiU drop

edit: btw, a tad unfair that a remake is on the list for Zelda

Well, if it would have been excluded, the average would be in favor for Zelda, so it must have been included for the OP to make his point.

Still, it would've been even more unfair, if he had included a Link between worlds, which just started selling.

Still, in any case the numbers are too close anyways, it seems both franchises are pretty similar in impact now. That's a big achievement for Uncharted, if you think about the history of Zelda.

I really enjoyed the games more so than recent Zelda games. Ive been playing those for over 20 years, Uncharted seemed fresh enough to get me interested and excited for the games. If games had to do something "new" everytime I wouldnt be gaming long. I said both were good, not gods gift to man or GOTG.

Toeach their own. Me, I still prefer Zelda, even after finishing UC2. And seriously, what's up with all the end bosses in UC1 and 2??

Exclude Ocarina of Time 3D because it's a remake

If anything they are about equal, but imo if Uncharted came out as much as Zelda it may not do as well.

Yeah well drakes fortune would have sold a lot more too if the PS3 wasnt $599.

Zelda is one of the most successful, oldest and critically acclaimed game franchises of all time.
I think as an IP it is much more a testament to the strength of the IP when it has endured consistent success for 25 years+ than something that has only achieved success for a short period of time.

During the 90's Crash Bandicoot sold more than Zelda but despite that which had the long-standing appeal?
Uncharted needs to remain a popular IP for much longer than it currently has for it to be a more valuable IP imo.

Actually by the time the first Uncharted released the 40GB PS3 was $399 and the 80GB PS3 was $499. There was no $599 sku at the time of the games release.
