Good for The Last of Us! Well done, ND!!
And well, I seriously am lovin how it bugs the ***t out of certain people here. Its great to see because THANK THE HEAVENS most of the industry is getting it right. Another winslide for ND like back with Uncharted 2. Only this time, with hugeeee competition from the likes of stunning games like GTAV and ACIV.
For me, The Last of Us felt more than a game. Gaming is great and all, but I have grown to appreciate an experience more thqn "just a game you play for fun or high scores."
The Last of Us is a treasure. A shiny, golden treasure just like one of my all-time fav movies. You only go through it on special occasions and dont overdo it because the value of the content is so emotionally taxing.
I havent touched it since I finished it around the time it came out. The game is just too f'in valuable to me. I have the steel case edition. This thing is pure art on the highest level and the experience cannot be wasted.
I will play through it again before the dlc arrives and I bet the experience will be once again mindblowing. But no matter what, it can never exceed the first playthrough. Ahhh, now THAT was a grande moment.
You have games and then you have The Last of Us. That's how I see it. Game, movie, I don't care what the heck you call it...for me it was just so,ething that made me more happy than anything I have ever played. "Happy" in the sense that a game can actually, truly, gracefully be THAT darn good.
Heck, people trash talked the film apocalypto for political reasons. They werent reviewing the film but the director. We all know if it was directed by anyone other thqn mel gibson it would have received numerous oscar nods. My point? Greatness gets hated upon. Even the best of film will get criticism. :)
