The other day I was out with some friends and a couple of them said they couldn't wait to get SSB on the 3DS.  The rest of us said we were basically done with handheld consoles, but that's not the point.  The point is not one of us knew of anyone getting a Wii U for SSB because either:

a) The people who would buy it already had a 3DS that would play the game fine.

or

b) They just didn't see 1 game as worth getting a system for.

So really is anyone here getting a Wii U for Super Smash Bros?

Well I'm getting a Wii U for Smash Bros, so there's that.

More specifically, I'm getting one to get Smash, X, Mario Kart, and Bayo 2 this year.

it will boost it somewhat, probably not significant. it's my favorite series of games from nintendo's home consoles but I won't be getting it.......my guess is most people who feel they must have it already got a wii u in preparation

It will sell systems, just not to the degree people are hoping.
