Microsoft Dwarfs Sony and there's a possiblility Sony would go bankrupt. Microsoft Should buy Sony or at least playstation developer rights. Imagine Microsoft having pretty much a gaming monopoly in the US, Europe and having a strong foothold in japan. It would be easy for microsoft to buy sony and the Xbox One could easily sell 100 million -150 million this way. they would not have to cut price as fast either. Would have more first part games, wouldn't have to pay companies for exclusive rights for DLC, wouldn't have to advertise as much. Life would be complete. Why don't they buy sony???

Not worth it? They're $18b and Sony would probably get more selling off individual assets (probably).

I remember Microsoft spening 50 million for GTA4 timed exclusives, 500 million to advertise Kinect 1 etc. It all adds up. I'm sure they will eventually spend more than 18b in advertising eventually. They wouldn't have to lower xbox one cost as much to compete with sony. cutting the Xbox One by 100 dollars would cost them a bullin or two in itself.

An aggressive take over wouldn't work, you bet they have studied it. I would abandon game if MS had monopoly, if ninty were still kicking would go to them.

your second sentence answers your own question. why on earth would sony sell its playstation division if the end result is then going bankrupt as an end result?

I doubt Sony would let that happen, debt or not
