Forums - Gaming Discussion - Anyone else think Zelda in 2015 is unacceptable?

As you know, a betting man wouldn't place money on Zelda U (mainline game, not Hyrule Warriors) coming be out in 2014.  I think that's unacceptable.  Most Zelda home console games have come out within a year of the system release (N64 was two years later, but look at that console's sales) and as you know, Twilight Princess was a launch title.  Zelda is a flagship franchise that is key to any chance of a Wii U comeback.  It appeals to a more hardcore audience than Mario games that the Wii U is missing, and even if it doesn't outsell Mario, the games have put up some impressive numbers.  I also think that 2015 is just too late.  2014 will be the make or break year for the Wii U.  By 2015, no one may care.  Zelda in 2015 would lead to a sales spike no doubt, but a Zelda around this Christmas could lead to momentum (or continue momentum from Smash and Mario Kart) that could be huge.  Then you could have Metroid and Animal Crossing in 2015 along with say, Mario Galaxy 3.  So no shortage of big titles in 2015 either.

Thoughts?

Yes it would be. But considering that this year we got WWHD and next year Hyrule Warriors, I wouldent be surprised :(

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Well to be honest I don't mind. I got lots of Zelda games to replay and beat completely!

I think it will come in 2014 though. They really need this year to be good.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Nope. I think a Zelda that doesnt look similar to the tech demo is unacceptable.

I'm OK with 2015. In the last three years we've seen two new Zelda games and an HD remake. I don't mind waiting a little longer.

Plus, I'm sure the game will be worth the wait.

No, and saying it is unacceptable is pretty stupid

I'll wait until it's done. A rushed game would be unacceptable.

I really enjoyed that tech demo, it showed off a really pretty Zelda, and if they want to attract more people, they need to stay conservative in art style. Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda of all time but I think the best option would be to go with the tech demo style. It has a more adult tone but still felt fantastical and fun. I dont know, the art style just fit is what I'm trying to get at.

No. Ocarina of Time taught me that waiting is good. I need my Zeldas to be great, not rushed for Christmas to push some extra consoles.

There's so much stuff on the way... personally I am satisfied.

Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. , and X probably got me covered for quite some time.
So they should just take their time and release the game in 2015. (of course 2014 would be awesome, but I think it will just remain a dream)
