Although super mario galaxy was amazing loved the level designs I got all 121 stars with both mario and luigi, i think it was 121 it has been so long. Anyways although galaxy was amazing I do look for more than just platforming in my games, so I have to give it TLoU simply a masterpiece, story was amazing, gameplay was tight and it is the very first game I have ever used every single item that was given to me, I used to get so happy when I found a brick or bottle, should I shiv this clicker or try to sneak by it, should I kill them and clean the room in hopes of finding ammo, helath, or even parts to make a molotov. Every single encounter was planned and thinking about what about later will I have enough ammo or shivs to get through, especially in survivor. Then that unique multiplayer, which of course was and is a blast with friends. I would have picked galaxy but TLoU has gameplay and an amazing story.

Probably Call of Duty 4. It was the game that convinced me about online. I played it for 500+ hours. It was the first real online experience for me.

Mario Galaxy cause just when I thought Nintendo couldn't do anything new, they pull this out of their ass just to destroy my expectation... Everything about it was just the very best of Nintendo and it really did show that the wii could have games that are fun yet challenging for everyone...

Like i said in your other thread, this was the gen of mass effect!

Oblivion TES IV

It is to Morrowind & 3D openworlds what Link to the past was to The legend of Zelda & 2D. A gigantic leap in what was already the greatest game of it's time. TES IV carried over the infinity of quests and treasures. So beautiful and big. So many ways to replay. So early in the gen too!

Mario Galaxy. With the exception of a few segments (mostly the motion controller ball levels) the entire game was enjoyable from beginning to end. There are few games of any real length that don't have any dull points, any lulls, or any downright boring segments.

The level design of Mario Galaxy was endlessly inventive, and the promise of a new surprise or gimmick around each corner kept you engaged. The controls and physics were perfect, and never once did a death seem like it was anything but your fault. Something as simple as Mario's spin attack was a minor revolution in gameplay, allowing an added degree of precision that most 3D platformers lacked. That's not to mention the beautiful clean cartoony graphics, the tremendous soundtrack, and so on so forth. Simply a joy to play beginning to end.

IMO the only game that even came close to Mario Galaxy was Galaxy 2.

I'll go with Rayman Origins. Why? Quirky and humorous cast of characters, great sound and soundtrack, great level design, amazing art direction. For me the game was a full package, easy for people that aren't fans of the genre, yet challenging for those that are (Speed runs).

(I would have said Rayman Legends, but since it will be on PS4 and Xbone....)

Dark Soul's is great, because it's just a brilliant game to play, that makes you think every moment, and I enjoyed the open world compared to Demon Soul's, as well as it being on PC, with mods to avoid the frame drops, and higher resolution.

followed closely by Deus Ex: Human Revolution. But this game is slightly inferior to the core mechanic in the original deus ex (despite many things being actually better), so I moved this slightly down and was my game of the gen for a while.

Mario Galaxy 2 fallowed closely by Mario Galaxy. Why? well they are amazing games with creativity matched by no other games before them (lol haters be like Mario is da rehash) with amazing music and gameplay that kept a huge smile on my face all the way through to the end.

I chose Galaxy 2 since it improves and adds more creativity to the Galaxy formula and makes it almost perfect, Galaxy 1 had the wow effect the second one lost since, well it's the second one :P

I'll go with Mass Effect 2. All three Mass Effects were great experiences, but Mass Effect 2 was my favorite from beginning to END. The game play was a massive improvement over the first (No crazy Mako). The story and the universe built in the story is the best I've seen in gaming in general. The cast of characters are deep, had good back stories, and personalities. The loyalty missions were amazing.

This. I haven't been so immersed in a games world for a very long time. Love the dialogue, love the characters. I actually grew attached to most of my crew. Great ending and I loved the real consequences of my choices. Ive only played as Vanguard but the gameplay is fairly deep and gives you enough options.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine
