Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which Company Do You Think Would Have The Least Trouble If Gaming Crashed?

Which one?

Nintendo 85 45.70%

Sony 17 9.14%

Microsoft 74 39.78%

That Disney ad on here 10 5.38%

Total:186

No point in threads when you're going to shape the answer yourself. Fact is if gaming crashed, MS has by far the most amount of money to sustain.

1) Microsoft cause whatever they lose, they will get back in royalties

2) Nintendo cause they have already been through a game crash as well as revived gaming as a viable platform of entertainment so they know what it means to create an industry from shit to epic. Plus they got a shit ton of money to do so and they have been profitable every year for the past 25 years.

3) Sony since their gaming is arguably, the most profitable division in their whole company and if their gaming division fails, they will have steep competition to face against companies like Samsung from all fronts... (I might be wrong so don't attack me you silly Sony fans)

I'd just like to point out that that's not even close to being true.

Microsoft would be better off as a company without consoles because their console division has been overall unprofitable. The xbox division is killing microsoft based on what I can tell. Then they could focus on their products that people used to care about, like windows.
Sony would be the second to least effected. They've other electronic divisions that are profitable. They also have internet and insurance.
Nintendo would be completely dead. They only have gaming.

Microsoft would be least affected by it.

Microsoft will be fine because they're Microsoft. Nintendo would die unless they find big success releasing their stuff on smartphones, Sony will have to cut off some of their unprofitable assets but they'll be okay in the long run.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Just a console gaming crash would hurt Sony more, A Console and Pc gaming crash would hurt Microsoft a lot more.

Are you freaking kidding? The EDD (the division Xbox Is in) over the last 6 years has made $3b profit. Overall the Xbox is in the red, suffered heavy losses early on, but for the majority of last gen is was making money.

Regardless of that, you realise MS make like $8 bill a quarter right? Xbox is chump change to them. Killing them??? That's hilarious.

Sony's electronic divisions don't make them much money and each one of them isn't in the best shape right now. Internet????

Everyone is missing my point. Everyone saying Microsoft mentions that they have other divisions if gaming dies. Pay attention, I said ONLY gaming. No OS's, smartphones, etc. Just gaming.

You should try reading and comprehending the question first before you post. The question was asking JUST the gaming division alone. The other divisions of any of the three companies don't matter because he specifically said only the gaming division. With that in mind, Microsoft will be the one to suffer the most because it's gaming division has till this day been unprofitable.

Most of the people in the thread seem to be completely missing the original poster's question. If I can understand what he is asking than why can't you guys?
