Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which Company Do You Think Would Have The Least Trouble If Gaming Crashed?

Which one?

Nintendo 85 45.70%

Sony 17 9.14%

Microsoft 74 39.78%

That Disney ad on here 10 5.38%

Total:186

I know most of you will say that Sony and Microsoft have different divisions, but I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about just the gaming parts. I would order it like this.

1. Nintendo

2. Microsoft

3. Sony

I order it like this because Nintendo is Nintendo, Microsoft isn't most likely f**ked before this gen ends, and Sony is most likey f**ked before this gen ends.

Edit: Everyone, I'm talking about only gaming. Basically, which order will the brands Nintendo, Playstation, and Xbox die if gaming crashed?

Since Sony and Microsoft never had to go through a real gaming crash, there has been no real incentive for them to invest heavily in their own divisions. Im sure a gaming crash would change that, neither would go away.

Sega and Nintendo invested heavily in their own divisions after the gaming crash in the early 80's and they were able to better weather the transition. (even  though Sega's bad decisions cost them in the end)

the gaming divisions are puny parts of Microsoft and Sony, however, Nintendo as a whole is only a videogame developer, they'd have nothing to fall back on.

Serious question? Microsoft is the only one that wouldn't be affected. Nintendo would be totally irrelevant and Sony would basically have to file bankruptcy. Playstation is Sony's last hope to survive.

That's why I said "I'm talking about just the gaming parts.". Sony and Microsoft's gaming divisons would go away before Nintendo if gaming crashed.

So their movie studios +music, insurance, phone business (all of which have higher revenue than the gaming division which has shrunk mightly since the ps2 era) are just nobodys...got it.

1) Sony since playstation is the "hardcore" brand to go to and they have a shit ton of really good "hardcore" games

2) Nintendo cause they have already been through a game crash as well as revived gaming as a viable platform of entertainment so they know what it means to create an industry from shit to epic. Plus they got a shit ton of money to do so and they have been profitable every year for the past 25 years (except the last 2).

3) MS cause Xbox isn't a good brand any more

Edit: Didn't see the Edit so edited everything

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

1) Sony
2) Nintendo
3) Microsoft

Sony will survive simply because they're sony. They have the brand loyalty and exclusives that will deliver even when gaming crashes. Just look at PS3's early days of being on the market. No one wanted one and yet they managed to snatch second place from Xbox 360.
Nintendo isn't that screwed because that have very recognized ip's that people will still want to play.
Microsoft is the most screwed simply because of their vision. We saw all the backslash from their X1 reveal and they had to directly change literally most of their vision. Chances are it will happen again sometime this Gen.

This is my opinion, whether you agree or disagree is up to debate.

Why are you surprised?  Considering his post history, it's pretty much a norm for him to ignore the facts.  Hell for months after E3, he would only say the same thing in every thread he was in. Xbone at 399.99 with Halo next year will be number 1. He lives in his own bubble and believes only MS try to better themselves while other companies just sit around with their thumb up there ass...

1) Microsoft cause whatever they lose, they will get back in royalties

3) Sony since their gaming is arguably, the most profitable division in their whole company and if their gaming division fails, they will have steep competition to face against companies like Samsung from all fronts... (I might be wrong so don't attack me you silly Sony fans)

Didn't Nintendo have a loss in 2011 and 2012?
