Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How much are U enjoying your Wii U?

Right now? I'll admit, I'd rate it a 7/10, because it has insane potential that it hasn't unlocked. I use my Wii U second only to my 3DS, and I'm starting to use it more now that more games are coming out. I like all the games I have for it right now, but I guess the best one out right now is Super Mario 3D World. Amazing multiplayer, seriously, me and a couple of buddies played it and within minutes it was my favorite Wii U game. It's probably the best Mario platformer since Super Mario World for the SNES. The cat suit is easily my favorite powerup. Wind Waker HD shows off a bit of what having another screen can do for single player games, and is really beautiful. Few people talk about it anymore, but I really liked Nintendo Land, because it showed off some multiplayer co-op potential for the Wii U that no other Wii U game has yet come close to. Which brings me to why I give it a 7/10. The Wii U has the potential to do things that no other console can do, and it has yet to do those things. I'm really afraid it's going to end up like the original Wii where it takes half the generation before we see the full potential for unique gameplay to actually be implemented in the games.

1. 8/10 so far.
Pretty good console IMO. No bugs, issues, crashes etc...and games have been great so far.

2. On average about an hour every day but I'm a very busy guy so that is a lot. Its been my only gaming for the last month.

3. Games I have for it are ZombiU, Zelda Windwaker and Sonic Lost Worlds

ZombiU - The greatest survival horror game in the last 10 years. My god is this game awesome and it completely blindsided me. I thought it would be shit to be honest and got it cause it was $14.99. 10/10

Zelda Windwaker HD - haven't gotten around to playing it yet lol. I know what to expect since I played the original

Sonic Lost World - much better than reviews indicate. Solid 7.5/10 game and for a sonic fan like myself this means a must play game.

As of now, I'd say 4 or 5 / 10. Sounds like I hate the system, but I really want to love it like I did with Wii. But so far it has been a weird affair, no 120 star Mario game (we'll probably get it but late in the lifecycle it isn't the same :(

Good thing it is a very reliable system, so far it has crashed/freezed three times, all while playing Lego City. And that's a problem a lot of people have so it's not the Wii U's fault. Good it autosaves often so you won't get angry.

The Gamepad has seen too few good uses, Nintendo Land couldn't have done without it but I was bored of the game within a short time... Rayman Legends has been the funnest gameplay with gamepad for me. Lego City Undercover and Wind Waker also benefitted greatly with a map on the Gamepad. But I feel that using the Gamepad while other people has to use Wii remotes feels a little weird too, so maybe I'm still not used to it.

I bought the Wii U when it was new, December '12. Got NSMBU the next month and was pretty bored with that too. Lego City Undercover had a great campaign but the collectibles felt tacked on and there was just too much to collect for my tastes. Pikmin 3 was a fun little game too, finished it last month, but the gameplay got boring towards the end. Final boss was pretty scary too, not in terms of look, but in terms of how you had to approach it :O I saw the trailer for the Christmas themed DLC and got excited, but I tried the free demo stage and it didn't impress me anything.

I just don't feel the Nintendo magic nowadays as in the Wii/DS days, especially 2006-2008, those were GREAT years. I can feel it's slowly coming with 3DS now though, especially with Pokémon X and Y released. A Link Between Worlds is a sign of greatness to come. But with Wii U? I don't feel nothing. I feel just the same for PS4 though, love my PS3 but then again the PS4 just launched (but with no games I'm interested in). Maybe it's just a sign of me getting older. But I've felt this since Nintendo launched 3DS and Wii U. The E3 2013 without a live conference to applaud all Nintendo news was deeply saddening. But I've felt this way before so we'll see. I've also been very sick and asthmatic most part of 2013 but I've started to get much better now, finally. That may have a lot to do with my gaming tastes nowadays.

Sooner or later the magic will be back.

Yep.

Buy Pikmin 3.

Lots of people need to buy more games in this thread.

This console already has over 130 games come on. (115 more to come out)

And V-rock. Nintendo announces things closer to release

1) As of now, rate the Wii U on a scale of 1-10 Answer: 9/10

2) How much have you used the Wii U? Answer: Nearly everyday since I got it.

3) What are your favorite Wii U games? Why? Answer: Mario 3D World not only is it one of my favorite Wii U games it's one of my favorite games ive ever played. Also Monster Hunter 3 isnt band and some of the ports are fun to play.
Pikmin is a good one. Oh and how did I forget Wind Waker HD i actually hated wind waker back when it came out for GC (was the biggest dissapointment of my life coming from my favorite game i expected more) but now my grudge has grown and the game is a truly amazing still no OOT though.

1) I only rate things when I'm in the mood, which isn't very often, so I'm going to skip this one.

2) A decent bit. I only use it to play my backlog of Wii games that I collected over the years while I didn't have a Wii. I had gotten tired of the motion focused games after the first year the Wii was out, so I moved on to other consoles, but still bought Wii games I knew I'd love over the years knowing I'd get a Wii again eventually. Instead, I got a Wii U a few months ago to play my backlog and to be ready for the new gen of Nintendo games that insterest me. This backlog includes Operation Rainfall and Twilight Princess.

3) Like I said, I only really got it to play my backlog of Wii games for now, but I WILL be playing (quite extensively, I might add) Monolith Soft's X and Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem!

1. Rate it a 5 reason being I want that N64 magic back from Nintendo. All that variety I miss it.

2. Not that much as I just don't have time. Been enjoying handhelds more.

3. Deus Ex Directors Cut, Rayman Legends are my top 2

i rate it on a 10

i use it everyday to browse the internet to catch up on news, than i jump right into gaming if i feel like it.

still enjoying sonic lost world even after 100%, but atm really into online-play of Dr. Luigi

1. 7 / 10

2. Not as much as my PC (which isn't much to begin with) but enough, usually for impulse sessions but clocked in 15hrs in Most Wanted U alone.

3. Used to play Tekken online almost everyday then Most Wanted U came along. I have a bunch of other games that I'm not close to finishing

Other thoughts. Frequently feel buyers remorse tbh. I wish I bought a cheaper 7th gen SKU to fill in the gap before getting a PS4. This could change over time but I doubt it. I feel I could have spent my money on something else and barely felt a thing :/

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I'm enjoying it plenty, though I've been waiting seemingly forever for games like Two Brothers, Another Castle, Shovel Knight, etc. to get finished and come out on eShop.
