I've been listening to a lot of the classic video game music and hearing remakes of them now and still loving them so it got me wondering what my favorite soundtrack of the 7th gen is, it has to be sometihng you'll remember 20 years from now.

I'd say oddly enough a not so popular game Afro Samurai, there really just taking music from the show but whatever I played the game almost for the music lol It's mostly rap songs and I don't even care for rap.

But officially I woul say MGS4, I got chills hearing some tracks.

Super Mario Galaxy

Overall this gen was terrible for soundtracks compared to all previous. Lots of Japanese game composers retired from actually composing new material.

Asura's Wrath
Great game awesome soundtrack.. to bad nobody played it.. since a sequel won't be happing I hope it will be ported to iOS someday so more people can enjoy this.. would hate to see that this was just it for Asura's Wrath

Nier was awesome, FFXIII was good but not on the level of X or VI.

I'd say hotline miami on indie side, and The world ends with you definitely deserve a mention for trying something else and doing it with skill.

Mario galaxy has astounding music

others I feel final fantasy 13 was simply stunning, heavy rain gets a nod from me aswell as heavenly sword

I agree that it has to be Galaxy or Xenoblade.

If we're including remixes, though, Brawl has a strong contention (the fact that it literally has hundreds of songs helps)

Either Fable II or Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Despite the fact that the game sucked and the majority of the soundtrack was mediocre, the battle theme to Final Fantasy XIII was good.
