More like never underestimate Nintendo LOL
What are you talking about? Americans buy the most during the holidays. Black Friday being a US holiday alone is proof of that. Plus I think WiiU will sell strong all year round this time, Super Mario 3D World will keep the baseline sales up, plus bimonthly releases of Donkey Kong and Mario Kart mean that WiiU should have a strong first half.
The big question I think is how much will Titanfall/Halo boost XBO sales. Halo could save XB1.
What is with all the hate? Don't read GamrReview Articles. Contact me to ADD games to the Database
Vote for the March Most Wanted / February Results
It would have happened in the first week or possibly first 2 days if there were enough shipments..stupid Sony

Too difficult to call as the Megadrive had some strong advantages over super nintendo. For a start it had a 16bit 68000 processor and a Z80A processor which was mainly used for sound but could be used for normal programming. It was higher resolution too. Snes had a weak 8/16bit processor which was also fully 6502 compatible for NES games (but then Nintendo never bought out the cartridge adapter for NES games). The advantage of the super nintendo was its graphics chip with mode 7 and sound chip. It's unlikely the super nintendo could do the fast effortless scrolling of sonic games and visually the megadrive couldn't do everything the super nintendo could do like mode 7. There are many games available for both super nintendo and megadrive that play much better on megadrive. The real advantage to super nintendo was the sfx chip in later cartridges which included a simple risc processor. This took the super nintendo in power terms somewhere between megadrive and 32x power. |
Good post! It was a fascinating time as they both had different advantages which when utilized really made them stand out. I think the SNES had far superior sprite rotation capabilities thanks to Mode 7 etc, which meant much bigger on screen bosses etc in games. However Mega Drive was definitely far better for bullet hell games etc. Personally I preferred the SNES. But I was brought up on Nintendo consoles.
The funny thing with the Super FX chip was, that was actually from a British company which Nintendo really screwed over in the 90s.

Agreed. This is nothing compared to the upcoming gap threads or Knack 2 vs. (Acclaimed Nintendo Exclusive) sales thread.
Good for PS4. But, people should make these kind of threads when PS4 actually outsells Wii U everywhere. It's still 1.6 million away. I already know people are going to tell me "But it is going to outsell Wii U! Why do you think it won't?" so I'll just tell you now that there is a 99.99% It's going to happen and that it still hasn't outsold the Wii U. It's like celebrating that we are going to have New Year's 2015 in January 2014 (Which you may or may not be reading this at that time) because It's going to happen.
