WiiU Game manage to outselling PS3 and PS4 Game??

Super Mario 3D World’s opening week sales were absolutely destroyed by the media. Unfair comparisons, proclamations of being outsold with missing information, and just flat-out sensational titled articles, infested the internet for weeks regarding Super Mario 3D World’s sales. But as the dust settled, and the Wii U sold more units, Super Mario 3D World is proving to be an “evergreen” title. While Lighting Returns and Knack sales have fallen off a cliff.  

Super Mario 3D World didn’t have as much time to track in the Media Create for its debut. But it has continued to sell at a great pace. As of now, Super Mario 3D World hassold more than 327,514 units in Japan. VGChartz has tracked the game at 1.02 million units sold, not counting digital.  Super Mario 3D World ranked 8th in theTsutaya Charts from Sunday. So we know it probably sold an excess of 60,000 units plus in this week’s Media Create Charts. Lighting Returns Final Fantasy 13 has completely dropped out of the top 20. At this point, the game has sold around 373,592 units the last time it charted. That means Super Mario 3D World has probably already passed up Lighting Returns. What makes this more impressive is the Wii U’s install base is only around 1.5 million compared to the almost 10 million owners of the PS3 in Japan.

I scoffed at people making such a big deal about Mario’s opening day sales in Japan. It’s not how you start, it’s about how you finish. On top of that, Super Mario 3D World is one of the most downloaded games on the Wii U eShop due to the Digital Deluxe program and small file size. Funny how all those sites forgot to mention that.

Next, we have ‘Knack outselling Super Mario 3D World’ headlines. This was based on zero numbers other than a position chart where the officials are too scared to show the data, in fear of people mocking how insignificant the market is. I’ve heardMyNintendoNews say the UK is the biggest market in Europe. Is that so? Well if they’re ‘so big,’ why don’t they show off their console and software numbers like the Media Create? The UK is irrelevant without the rest of Europe. And Knack is getting crushed by Super Mario 3D World now, there is no comparison. Knack has sold less than 400,000 units, and has completely fallen off the global video games sales charts. While Super Mario 3D World is constantly racking up triple digit sales, in addition to topping the eShop charts. Where are all the headlines now?

The point of this article is to show people that Nintendo games sell for a long period of time. If you look at the sales ranks. Games like Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros, Wii Sports Resort, Animal Crossing New Leaf, and other Nintendo games sell steady amounts  for months, if not years. Making a big deal out of one game outselling a major first-party Nintendo title in the first week is foolish, because we all know who’s going to sell more in the long run

Also, I don't understnad the author would trash the 3rd largest market in the world. While the UK isn't as large as Japan, they're definitely significant.

The gamecube had evergreen titles as well...the only thing it means is that the mantra of Nintendo consoles sell Nintendo games is true, doesn't help the console in the long run and third parties will stay away.

Nintendo fans didn't fire the first shots when it came to SM3DW sales comparisons. Sure, you can tell someone to be the bigger person and let it go, but you can't blame someone for getting revenge. If I made threads about how your console of choice is doomed and your big game of the season was a flop, I wouldn't be upset if you rubbed it back in my face weeks later once the tables had turned.

People have gone from gloating about New Super Mario Bros. Wii outselling so many PS360 exclusives combined to gloating about Super Mario 3D World title outselling Knack.

This is getting funny. Sad, but funny.

I don't see the point of this. If anything, the peolpe making these comparisons will just laugh even more. Of course 3D world was going to have good legs, it's a platformer. Platformers have good legs, it is known.

Oh God, more from Playeressence.com. So glad I stopped going to that site. The author of that website is a known Nintendo white knight, and don't even get me started on that community. Bias drivel is bias drivel.

People were gloating about Knack outselling Mario 3D World (briefly, in the UK only) FIRST. Nintendo fans are merely responding accordingly. Sony fans shouldn't go running their mouths with their stupid arrogant claims if they aren't prepared to deal to the inevitable backlash that will follow.
