Wow. I didn't expect that. 3DS selling more then PS4 and X1 combined, Wii U's outselling X1 and still none of the next gen games in top 10 apart from Nintendo ones.

While I don't think the 3DS numbers are way off, just saying they are 100k+ lower than last year doesn't tell the whole story.  Japan alone makes up more than the total YoY drop, and we can be pretty confident with those numbers thanks to data from multiple other trackers.  While we don't have UK numbers for the week ending the 21st yet, it will likely bring the LTD to around 2.6 million.  This is at odds with the recent news on December 19th that it had just passed 2 million.  The strong weekly hardware sales also seem fairly incongruous with the low number and placement of 3DS software in the Chart Track top 40.

Last year also had the week ending one day closer to Christmas.  Probably not a huge factor, but it could have an influence of a few percent.

With that said, I don't think 3DS sales are absolutely incorrect, but being down YoY worldwide isn't a reason to discount that possibility.

So, this means Wii U has outsold Vita LTD? Goddammit.

Well I don't speak for other PS4 gamers, but I've only bought Knack since launch. So maybe there's a trend emerging there? Neither PS4 or X1 have the necessary variety of games to make people like me buy more before Q1 2014, when the next wave of releases happen. The Wii U has the library with more variety and hardware bundles. Whilst Microsoft & Sony titles sell well during the pre-order period and soon after launch, it is Nintendo 1st party titles that have longer tails.

Those PS4 numbers. Europe is damn solid.

Don't know why some people are assume that Sony haven't sold 3 million because they haven't announced it. From a business point of view (and a comment that someone else has already made) you make PR statements when you have something very positive to announce. The first was 1 million in 24 hours, next was Europe launch sales, so now you can expect sales after Feb if Japan goes to plan (i.e if it breaks a launch record).. or when the console makes 5 million sales. They are not going to announce each million as that would seem a little silly imho.

It's more than 2 million off that, yet.

Interesting to see Wii U above XOne. I know XOne isn't available in Japan but what would it sell there if it was? 10-20k tops? Would be a statistical tie. Then again is PS4 was out there it would definitely eat into that Wii U number.

Basically we won't be seeing Wii U about XOne very often.

I think for every 10 PS4's sold XOne will sell 6 and Wii U 2.5 and that's being generous to Nintendo and pessimistic towards the XOne.

The 3DS is becoming a true sales juggernaut just like its predecessor.
