My Top Games Of 2013:

Around the Network

The NES. SNES is a close second.

Probably the PS2, so many great games that I still haven't experienced most of them.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

PS2. Absolutely no contest.

It doesn't get any better than a PS2.

Based on games originally released for that particular console (before the days of VC/XBLA/PSN etc)

1. SEGA Megadrive.
2. SEGA Dreamcast.
3. XBOX 360.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

NES. Hands down.

It was the system I grew up with, my first console being Atari 2600, but NES was when I really "fell in love" with video games, instead of just thinking they were neat. The first time I saw/played Super Mario Bros., I was hooked. So nostalgia plays a big part into it. And the SNES certainly deserves it's kudos, it was definitely THE system to own for classic rpgs and fighting games. But NES was bad ass. There are just so many great games on it, and so many franchises that started on it/got big on it, that it's kind of absurd.

Super Mario Bros.
Zelda
Metroid
Castlevania
Contra
Mega Man
Double Dragon
TMNT
Ninja Gaiden
Adventure Island
Bomberman
Tetris
Tecmo Bowl
Punch Out
Duck Tales
Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers
Kirby
StarTropics
RC Pro Am
Gradius
1942/43
Ikari Warriors
Bionic Commando
Power Blade
Dr. Mario
Kid Icarus
Excitebike
Ghouls n Ghosts
Gargoyles Quest 2
etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

It was all around just a great system, and for my money, it's still the greatest console that was ever made.

Any true Nintendo fan probably hates the Wii, I mean yea it was a super success but for the first time Nintendo didnt' aim for the us Nintendo fans and so teh Wii was a success. I remember I stopped playing games for awhile because of the Wii gimmick controller, I'm kind of used to it now but in the begining they forced every game to use that tilt motion crap

I'm sorry, but that statement is BS. I would certainly consider myself a "true Nintendo fan", been one since the 80s, but I loved the Wii. In fact it got me back into gaming. I really kind of fell out of gaming, not completely, but lost considerable interest during the GC/PS2 era. I didn't buy a used PS2 until probably late 2004 (it was cheap, and I wanted to play Smackdown), and I never actually owned a Gamecube. I liked several games for both consoles, but nothing grabbed my interest enough that I NEEDED to own either one, I had other things occupying my time and if I really wanted to try a game, I could play it at a friend's house. I intended to buy a GC when Twilight Princess came out, but then the Wii was backwards compatible, so I just bought a Wii at launch instead, and played the GC version on it. That was also when I went back and bought several GC games that I had liked, to play on my Wii.

But no, Wii got me interested in gaming more seriously again for several reasons. It had a lot of games that caught my eye early on, the Virtual Console was a great idea, WiiWare, despite it's flaws, had a lot of great downloadable games, especially classic styled games like the Konami "Rebirth" series, the Blaster Master remake, Cave Story, etc. But most importantly, Wii just had a lot of games I actually wanted to play, games that appealed to my more "old school" tastes. I eventually got a PS3 in early 2009 (even though for $400 at the time, it was still overpriced), and I liked some games for it, but I've mostly used it for media streaming more than gaming. Wii just had a lot of games that were more my style, such as Wario Land, and Kirby, NSMB, the A Boy and His Blob remake, Muramasa, the Okami port, the first Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros. Brawl, Metroid Prime 3/Trilogy, Mushroom Men, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Excite Truck, Punch Out, etc.

Just because you didn't like the Wii, which you're obviously welcome to your own opinion, but that doesn't mean anyone else that "consider themself a true Nintendo fan" can't like it. I get what you're saying, a lot of games (especially by third parties) DID have tacked on motion controls. But to me, it was the best Nintendo home console since SNES, and I have high hopes that Wii U will be on par, if not even better.

Definitely N64
