What I want, and really really hope, is that even though 16 old tracks will be available in the dicc. I want them to offer remakes of every track for paid dlc. If you own every track on an old cup, then that cup becomes available for gran prix. And to top it off, I want the ability to make your own cup, deciding which and how many tracks it will have.

Just imagine, and all rainbow road cup, an all bowser castle cup. Do it Nintendo and I am willing to spend a lot of money on Mario kart!

I don't think that's likely since it takes away from future Mario Karts, but that's not to say they wont have downloadable courses. They could instead be completely original courses, and some could even be based off of other Nintendo franchise's.

Since hearing about Sonic getting levels from Yoshi and Zelda, I've been hoping for a Green Hill Zone course for MK8. It'd be so perfect, as the anti-gravity will make those signature loops possible, and Coins could instead be Rings, and when you get hit, it makes that classic sound we all know and love!

They better fix those unintentional shortcuts!

While I do think it's unlikely, new mario karts could still feature some free retro tracks while all the other ones would be paid DLC. It's not like people buy mario kart to play the retro tracks, they just increase the value of the game.I would like DLC tracks based on other nintendo franchises. I really just want more tracks to race in and retro tracks seem like the easiest thing for nintendo to do.

I am a nintendo fan, not a nintendo fanboy

I don't think you'll have to worry about them making more tracks! Once they finish MK8, they wont have to make another Mario Kart game for a good long while, so unless they decide to make another F-Zero afterall, then their downtime will likely be spent on MK8 dlc methinks.

I really hope you're right and the N64 Rainbow Road will be on there…in HD!!! If not that one, then I'd vote for the Wii Rainbow Road but that one probably isn't "old" enough to be included yet, and that one is "wild" enough that it might have too many similarities to the MK8 Rainbow Road (which I think we all can agree will be the most insane track the MK franchise has EVER seen!).

What I'm curious about is whether they'll go all-out and add "anti-gravity" sections on most/all of the Retro tracks as well. If they do (like they added some underwater and simple gliding sections in the MK7 Retro courses) then they'll probably be making their Retro track selections based on which courses will allow for that. And if that's the case…the SNES and Gameboy Advance MK tracks don't really lend themselves well to being remade with "anti-gravity" sections. So that would leave 64, GC, DS, Wii, and 3DS courses up for consideration.

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

I think MK7 started a new trend with SNES Rainbow Roads inclusion, where the next new game will have the next RR in it, so N64 RR in MK8, GBA RR in MK9, and so ons.

I really can't see them not remaking tracks from the two games with the most courses still available. Just like with Gliding/Underwater, if it fits, it fits, if not, don't force it. Though I think it'll actually be just as easy to add anti-gravity to a track as it is for Gliding, since all you need to do is stick a wall somewhere.

Yoshi Valley >>>>>>>>>>>>>> N64 Rainbow Road. Don't even try to scare me.

Otherwise, good list. Nintendo's been getting better at Retro Track choices as shown by Mario Kart 7.

Actually they've been getting worse. If they keep this up all N64 and GCN tracks will have been used after 2 more MK games.
