I didn't bother finding your other post where you had quoted me but now that you said that the 3DS was overtracked by a lot. I did a bit of research and we have it undertracked by almost 500k globally as of august 30th 2013. Nintendo had stated that they had sold 6.47M 3DS's worldwide so far in 2013, yet we still have it at 5,9m as of august 30th 2013. I also checked some NPD data and there is a considerable amount of months where we did not even get the data for 3ds sales. I don't know how seece concluded that the 3ds was overtracked by 700k in the US. We know that it is overtracked by 400k in the UK, but it's definetly undertracked somewhere else and then some resulting in it being undertracked overall.

Uh, the only 6.47 million number I am finding is software in the US.  VGC seems to have the same (slightly more) for the same time period.  Hardware shipments stood at 34.98 million at the end of September.  In comparison VGC has 34.81m sold to consumers as of September 28th.  At least as of that point in time, the 3DS was overtracked.

As of august. Nintendo stated officially that they had sold 6.47m 3d systems. We have it at 5.9m units on the week ending august 30th 2013.

VG247 obviously made an error.  "Nintendo 3DS was the best-selling piece of hardware in the US with over 6.47 million units sold in 2013 – 30% increase year-over-year."  That would be an average of ~809k per month in the US.  It didn't even hit that in November.  You can find other articles citing the same number to software.

Here is the direct PR from Nintendo

"More than 6.47 million units of Nintendo 3DS software have been sold so far in 2013, an increase of nearly 30 percent over the same time frame last year."

My apologies then. Serveral other articles also made the same mistake I guess. But I still can't get how seece and Pezus believe that, as of now, we have the 3DS overtracked by 700k in the US.

I don't know if it has already been said, but the numbers got adjusted.

Sony and Microsoft both selling their new systems. Big question for me is come February when the whole waiting list and lack of stock argument will end and anyone who wants one can easily find them in NA and EU.

Bone is available here and there.

PS4 is a ghost, given its price advantage all should expect it to maintain better sales especially world wide.

3DS is a beast!

Now if Nintendo can only get some interesting software out for the Wii U to start pulling in great numbers next year. Mario Kart is a very good start.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

You know for as much doom and gloom Nintendo's sales have gotten in the media these days, Nintendo hardware sold over a million units this week. Microsoft and Sony didn't get close to that. And yeah 3DS is carrying Nintendo right now, but Wii U held its own decently against XBO and PS4 this week. I predict it will be beating at least one of them in weekly sales when Mario Kart 8 launches in Spring.

So much for "PS4 will outsell the X1 3:1!"...

Never happened.

Sony sold over 900k while its most in demand product is nowhere to be found in stock.... yahh not close at all.

Wii u held it own at half the price vs stock constrained competition.... thats not good buddy.

I got all 3 and see a bleak future for the wii unless NIN can come up with a reason why the wii pad is pure awesomeness and a wicked game can only be done on it.  MK8 is not it.
