So does any one believe that PS4 sold only 33k in those countries ?

 


By 2011 the ps3 was 4 years (?) on the market and it reached 1,3 million users in those areas. I wouldn't expect too much from those countries, as others have also said, prices are high for some and consoles are imported.

Considering the 3DS is down 44% YOY in Japan, I doubt it is only down 7% in the US.

The's the one thing I don't think is overtracked. Look at last year, Dec saw a huge boost for 3DS. This year it could easily do 1.2 - 1.5m.

So, you think it's down by such a large amount in Japan, but up in the US?  Ok, I guess.  I mean, you could be right, considering Nov saw a boost this year.  But, I think it's more likely sales sifted from Dec to Nov.  I'm only expecting ~1M for Dec.


Japan saw Animal Crossing last year which was a massive succes, even reaching the top of the charts this year. No game this year has been able to replicate the hardware boost the 3ds received in 2012. The rest of the world didn't get a similar boost last year and saw an animal crossing release this year so it's entirely possible the handheld sold better.

(for some reason I'm having a hard time with words so hope my point was clear)

PS4 undertracked, PS being undertracked isnt news. 3DS may as well hav outsold the PA4/3 and 360 combind. GO PSNINTY!!!!

I didn't bother finding your other post where you had quoted me but now that you said that the 3DS was overtracked by a lot. I did a bit of research and we have it undertracked by almost 500k globally as of august 30th 2013. Nintendo had stated that they had sold 6.47M 3DS's worldwide so far in 2013, yet we still have it at 5,9m as of august 30th 2013. I also checked some NPD data and there is a considerable amount of months where we did not even get the data for 3ds sales. I don't know how seece concluded that the 3ds was overtracked by 700k in the US. We know that it is overtracked by 400k in the UK, but it's definetly undertracked somewhere else and then some resulting in it being undertracked overall. 



Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

So you haven't notice the rise of Sales in All regions since Super Mario 3D World? Japan (according to famitsu) Wii U sold almost 120000 units alone

PS3 Down 50% (dying fast)
360 Down 57% (dying fast)
Wii Down 66% (now irrelevant)
PSP Down 55% (now irrelevant)

Current Gen:
3DS Down 12% (so-so)
Vita Down 15% (down!? really? wow, bad enough last year)
WiiU Down 21% (oh dear, last chance saloon)

Anyone (apart from Ethomaz) still not having my Jan prediction of over 30% down YOY for both the PS3 and 360? lol.

Vita was launched in every country except Japan last year so not surprised that numbers are down.

PS3 and 360 haven't had a price cut it more than 2 years and their successors came out this year.

The 3DS had a new revision (which was being sold for $99 on BF), Pokemon, AC:NL in the west, MH4 in Japan and is still down YoY.

I don't know where you got your research data from but NPD for November showed that the 3DS was overtracked by 400K for the month of November in the US alone.
