Before you could swallow me with the console war rage, please take time to read this :

My theory is mainly based on three axis (reasons):

- Vita is getting a huge 3rd Party support for next year and much more games are scheduled for 2014 than the actual concurrent. ( GR2, Freedom Wars, MH: Frontier, SAO, All-stars victory VS, SS Delta, ...)

- 3DS has actually gained a strong userbase, ~15Mil and is now down YoY even with strong releases Pokemon, MH,... It should be hard to find some japanese gamer who doesn't own one.

- And mainly for the release of ps4 next year, we all know that the console is doing great worldwide and is predicted to return glory ps2 days to Sony, however in Japan console gaming isn't pretty much the same, Handheld took over it. Therefore, Sony should benefit from the remote play feature to make a hybrid experience Console gaming at home and handheld gaming on Vita outside, every ps4 owner who could afford a vita will buy it.

Concluding, i predict 4 - 4.5Mil Vitas sold during 2014.

About MH:Frontier, is that exclusively on Vita?

3DS should pull no less than 3mil next year and tbh i dont kno if vita could make 3mil. This year it had a major price cut, 2 new SKU (Vita 2000+Vita TV) which only Vita 2000 is doing okay now, GE2, and some big IPs.

I think it'll definitely go up YoY but your 4.5mil? It'll need to pull 3DS #s for that. Vita this holiday might be wayyyyy up from last years but its nothing big (especially when you consider it just got its huge game and Vita TV last month)

2.28mil is the lifetime total with 3 holidays (still another 2 weeks to add of course)

2011= Around 450k (only 3 weeks of sales)
2012= Around 700k
2013= 1.13mil

I dont think it'll triple its lifetime time next year.

FYI, MH isnt going to be big. Thats that bad title WiiU+PS3 got (which did terrible)

Edit: PS4 launches and people will be spending money on that which means less potential sales for all handhrlds+WiiU.

Also 3DS has some big titles already coming out next year (nothing like MH/pokemon) as well as WiiU (MK+SSB+LoZ Dynasty Warriors)

No, Monster Hunter Frontier Online was first released for PCs, then ported to X360. Monster Hunter: Frontier G, au updated version of Frontier Online, was released for PC, X360, PS3 and WiiU.

Unless, some "hero" studio announced and launched a very good game that is both loud on the gaming community in japan, then why not? it would be like animal crossing again on the 3ds

I know MH won't do that big, just presumed a possible chance of a new MH release next holiday.
Vita's getting a lot of love from Developers that's what i thought so, 3DS won't surely do the same YTD, and ita should absolutely be Up YoY that's why i wanted to see if they will crusade.

I agree with everything your saying (except vita getting a true MH cuz i think 3DS will just get another one). 3DS will be down and Vita will be up but not as much as you think. 3DS will sell between 3-4mil imo and Vita will sell maybe around 2mil is my guess. There are alot of WiiU games coming as well as PS4 launch which will eat up sales (not alot but make a difference)!

When Pokemon Z is released in October Vita will most likely fall far behind

And why is that a "bad title"? Famitsu liked it back in the day.

Isnt Famitsu the worst review site? Well thats wat everybody tells me. MH4 got a point or 2 less than that but yet outsold all MH Frontier Online SKU By at least 25:1
