Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Activision going to give up on the WiiU?

They'll keep releasing on the Wii U. The Wii U is actually much better for their COD titles than the Wii was as they can near enough port the 360/PS3 versions over unlike creating an alternative COD game for the Wii each time.

The difference is, the Wii version actually sold because they had a lot of the casual non gaming market at the time.  Modern Warfare 3, the worst selling Wii CoD sold twice as much as Black Ops 2 did.  While they spent more money giving the Wii its own version, it wasn't a huge amount more because it was based off the same games, just in a different graphics engine.

The moment you resorted to the "rehash" cliche, you lost all credibility.

So  Super Mario 3D World isn't a rehash?  Oh.  That's right.  Super Mario 3D Land.

- All new levels.

- All new powerups.

- 5 playable characters instead of 1.

- Multiplayer.

It's no more a rehash than  Killzone Shadowfall is a rehash of Killzone 3.

COD GHOSTS  VERSIONS ON  PS3/360/PS4/XBOX ONE

COD GHOSTS VERSIONS ON  Wii U

which one do you think people will choose? and which one(s) did I buy lol.

Destiny not coming to Wiiu says it pretty much, no? I salute the Ubisoft, warner and activision, at least they tried(not that the walkign dead and fast furios games could be considered a effort...). If they retire their support with the support for 7th generation, i will not blame then.

I remenber watching a stream of a guy playng cod WiiU version at the midnigth release. Number of players online: 38.

Actually, its somehow impressive that activions managed to get a bundle for skylanders. A third party bundle with nitendo, thats not something that everyone can get.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

You mean two.  Both Mario and Luigi were playable in Super Mario 3D Land.  Did you not finish the game?

Reported the truth.

I don't think that was report material, I don't agree with him but it wasn't that bad.

Maybe; I'll leave it to the mods to decide whether or not it was report worthy.

From World at War onwards, the Wii COD games used the same engine as the PS3/360 versions.

Nup, didn't finish it. Portables do not hold my interest. Still two characters versus five.

Sales weren't really my point as long as they sell what they've shipped they'll make a profit but my point was they have to separately develop the Wii version as it vastly differs from the 360 & PS3 versions which no doubt added a lot to the development cost. The Wii U version however can be developed and ported as similar to the 360 & PS3 as apart from DLC there isn't too much difference.

So whilst the sales don't really compare (I'm merely speculating of course) at least they save money on development because the Wii U is more suitable for porting. If that makes sense?

So the revenue might actually be pretty good with all things considered as even if it sells 100k on Wii U that's still a fair bit of money to miss out on by not publishing I reckon.

Either way we're just guessing, will they drop the Wii U or not but my money, personally is on them supporting it, whether they'll release DLC is another matter! lol
