Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Activision going to give up on the WiiU?

To Activision's credit, they have been one of the few major 3rd publishers supporting the WiiU. The other being Ubisoft. They've brought COD Ghosts, Skylanders, and The Amazing Spider-man over. But will they continue supporting them next year? They recently released free DLC for COD Ghosts on every platform BUT the WiiU. And it's not much, just an extra game mode that adjusts player health. You can't tell me they didn't have the time to update on WiiU as well. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the WiiU version of Ghosts only accounted for 0.3% of the total game's sales? Why would they bother with such a small userbase? Will Activision be the next publsher to jump ship?

They should.

I think the next Skylanders game will be on Wii U as well.

Not so sure about Call of Duty. How many sales does a cheap port need to be profitable?

They will.

I'm sure Skylanders will stay on WiiU, The WiiU version sold pretty well, but what about other games?

They wont with the cartoony kiddy games like skylanders but they will eventually with cod

It´s Activision´s own fault that Call of Duty: Ghosts for the Nintendo Wii U does not sell good because their not supporting the Nintendo Wii U version, and they announced that before the game was released!!! And because DLC is very important for Call of Duty: Ghosts gamers, no one purchased the Nintendo Wii U version which has no DLC!!!

Not sure.

I honestly wouldn't miss them myself.

I believe UbiSoft and Activision will support WiiU on a title per title basis. Basically, they'll release titles they think might do well on WiiU and not release titles not likely to do well. If Activision do release COD in 2014, it will likely be with metroid dread-like additional content (just like the zombie mode/alien invasion mode).

If they can't even patch in a new gamemode that all other platforms got, do you really think they'll make exclusive content for the WiiU version?
