While TLOU wasn't anything special gameplay-wise, the story and presentation ( specially story) were simply breath-taking. One of the best, if not the best ever in a video game.

I don't know why some people say that, it had amazing melee combat, crafting, scavenging and top notch 3rd person shooting. I have never played a game with as good melee combat as TLOU.

Most if not all are xbox fans lol. The gameplay was outstanding.

I noticed that.

Still don't get why people are all "mind-blown" by this game. The story telling and presentation were good, but that's it.

Already been explained plenty of times in the thread.  Hint: The gameplay was fantastic also.

It did everything amazingly well, whats not to understand? The world does not revolve around your opinion alone.

Maybe its because i am a single father with a young daughter, but playing TLOU was an experience ill never forget. No game or movie has ever touched me emotionally the same way it has.

SPOILERS NEXT!!!!!

When you enter the surgery unit to save her, Everyone talks about going easy on the doctors and a morality choice. Maybe im a homicidal maniac, or maybe i got to a point where i was playing as if she was my girl, but I roasted each one of them with the flame thrower and took great joy in doing so. They were going to hurt her and they needed to suffer for it.. And after the interaction with marlene when joel is in the car, My chest felt like it was going to cave in until i heard Ellie waking up.

Haha same here. I didn't even notice the doctor would threaten me because of how fast I put the bullet in him and went on to slaughter everyone else. It was what Joel would do and that final cutscene with Marlene made it even more clear. I had been through what Joel had been through. I got it and I felt with the guy.

This game portrayed humanity in the darkest, cruelest but most true way possible. The actions of Joel, Ellie and many of the supporting characters throughout the game felt incredibly realistic given the situation they were in. While playing this game I was completely heartbroken as it became more apparent to me a person's actions is based on the situation he is in. This game is hands down one of the best video games ever made.

The multiplayer could have been better but the gameplay mechanics were phenonmal

Game had some good elements (mainly just the presentation in SP and the MP overall was good) but lol @ life changing. Don't think I have ever said that about a game, nor will I ever.

He should go watch Walking Dead, Road to Perdition, or The Road. There's some real parental bonding zombie/apocalypse type stuff (cept the 2nd one).

No video game has ever changed my life and I doubt any video game ever will, it's just entertainment after all. It's not suppose to be integrated into your real life.

Everything you experience is integrated into your life.  Unless you're a predetermine robot.

Then he hasn't thought about it enough and was very narrow sighted to start with since both the options of having children or not having children are equally valid and it's more ideal to go with the flow if you understand the pros and cons as each way to go can be a good life depending on how you treat it. Sounds more like a responsibility issue rather than the issue of rather he wants a kid or not. I find it kind of sad that he has to second guess his life choice based on an influence that's not his own intellect, IMO of course.

I love the game though, and you know this too, I just think it's weird that he's blending that thing into his actual life, like huh?

That's a rather strange way of looking at it, but here are my thoughts on that matter.

There's a difference between experiencing and thinking about something.  You might think something would work out and that you'd be fine with it, but once you actually experience something you might find that the reality is different.  Whether it is because you find that the perception is different than you expected or whether the reality is different from what you expected.

You might think "Oh well, I can ignore things that are annoying, I can deal with annoying kids."  Well perhaps the reality of it is that you could deal with it for a day, but long term, the persistance becomes more than you can bear.  Or perhaps the reality is that most kids aren't as annoying as you'd expect.

Someone might wonder what it is like to have kids.  Finding out isn't as simple as thinking about it.  Television, books, etc. give little insight in terms of feelings and what to expect.  Whether that is from not having the words to describe the feeling or whether it is from the exaggeration that is often given.

I suspect that whether someone wants to have kids has to do with their experience with kids, not any thought of well it doesn't seem like something I want.  If someone had the experience of a bunch of annoying kids, then they may not want to have kids.  I personally have had a great experience with kids.

I like thinking about things, but actually experiencing something is a whole different cake.  A thought is not a subsitute for an experience.  Though in this case a game is a rather unusual place to have an experience.  But people find all sorts of places for such thoughts.  Thinking must go hand and hand with experience.

There are nice people and shitty people in the world, the shitty just happens to outweight the nice for the most part, but there is no say in how your life will turn out with either one in a double choice question, hence why in the end, it doesn't make a lick of difference and it's better to think about the pros and cons then understand that each choice is just as valid as another in this situation due to unpredictabilities in life, nothing has to be forced, unless the girl purposely runs needles through those condoms you wear, then dannnnnggggg........ People need to stop being bound by their own experiences and think outside the box a little.

Can you give me the cliff notes version. I'm 2 lazy to watch that whole video. lol
