Quite honestly, I don't notice much of a difference between the 720p and 1080p. Most people don't even notice a difference unless you see both resolutions side by side.

I care more about frame rates. I'm disappointed we aren't seeing more games achieving 60 fps or maintaining it.

Let me guess ... You don't have a PS4.

Sorry, I forgot not owning a PS4 means my opinion has no validity.

And everyone knows PS4 is the only place I can find 1080p.

I'm still buried in a backlog which extends 2-3 generations, I can assure you games being in 480p now does not change how they played the day they came out, they're still amazing titles.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

1080p is great but not a deal breaker for me.

So I have the option to pay $400 and have 1080p, or $500 and not have 1080p.
Hmm, is it essential to have a PhD to figure this one out?

Performance: PS4 (higher def, more future proof)
Price: PS4 ($100 less)
Experience: PS4 (faster loading, smooth uncluttered UI)
Media: XB1 (TV guide integration, media file playback)
Motion & voice: (Kinect motion and better voice functionality)
Exclusives: Take your pick.
Cloudy with a chance of meatballs: Cloud is just a bullshit thing on MS feature list.

Me personally I'm pretty disinterested in the XB1 advantages, but I do like Halo and Gears of War so I will probably add an XB1 later when those exclusives come out and hopefully price goes down.

no mr pugsley... in a world (don lafontaine) where boys measure their dick size with the resolution of his games... one man, is ready to prove them wrong... mr. pugsley in.... 420....p

It's not equal though, each platform has their own unique features and games. If all platforms had the exact same features and games then the answer would be simple, PC.

Honestly, my favourite games of all time are sub-1080p. Owning a PS4 now I can see that it makes things look better sure but its not a necessity. Im not some kind of snobby, stuck up arsewipe who thinks hes too good for anything else. I play 3DS for fuck sake.

For certain games it can make a huge improvement, Civilization 5 for example, but on the PS4 I havent noticed the difference all that much. Ive played Battlefield 4 on Xbox 360 and PS4 and while the PS4 version is superior, I wouldnt say its a game changer. Its nice to have, but in a dick waving contest its very petty.

I admit don't have a PS4....but I'm willing to bet my favorite testicle that many of the people championing 1080p don't either. Hell, one guy on youtube was going on and on about 1080p and he had a TV smaller than my dick.

I may get both in March--if there's something I want to play. My job gives out huge bonus checks around that time and I need something to waste it on. No idea where I'd sit 'em though. My game room is pretty full right now and I don't want to move any of my consoles from their current configuration,

Pics or it didnt happen!

Less resolution with more dollars paid? I know which I would choose.

720p or 1080p? Which would you choose, all else being equal?

Of course 720p, would you choose 1080p? Pfft. I bet you have full hd tv too.

Give me a great game and I will play it. XBONE does not have any great games they have some okay ones a few good ones and some crap. A lot of their games are also on PS4 and also happen to look better on PS4.

Makes sense to me why people are choosing the other console.

Check back after Halo and Titanfall and see if things change.

So you prefer to stay in the PS360 era instead to move for a new one.

720p is so dated.

It won't be very long until you see PS4 games go the 720p route and sub hd for the X1. Both systems are fairly weak.

yes, COD is shit, doing it 1080p is easy but new games with modern  engines and technology are going to push ps4 on the 720p mark and below, like fatslob said... both systems are fairly weak.

34 years playing games.
