Forums - Gaming Discussion - the 1080p people...

Ever since I started gaming on PC, the need for the best resolution possible has been building for me. I sold Far Cry 3 for PS3 because I saw how it looked on PC. I now own it for PC.

Basically, if there is a better version of a multiplat game available, and I have the means to get it, I'm getting it.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Nope, its not all about 1080p but in a multiplatform game, the one with a higher resolution and framerate is always the superior version.

However, you have to keep in mind that on PC, 1080p was pretty much the standard since 2-3 years ago. I run skyrim with enb and high resolution texture mods, full blown 1080p.

Kind of of topic imo but : Nope, in most game (esp. for PC games...) the FPS is the most important for MP... And several people run with lower res/texture in many FPS because of that.

oh come on, just enjoy the xbone then.

I would choose 60 frames per second. If you can maintain that, then 720p OR 1080p is fine.

With that said, some games benefit huge with better framerates, while others with better resolution (and a general higher graphical fidelity), so whatever suits best.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

So you prefer to stay in the PS360 era instead to move for a new one.

720p is so dated.

i didnt expect `1080p from nintendo, but i did from the xbox one and ps4. look PC gamers have been bragging about 1080p for years, i expected sony and microsoft to put enough power into there counsel so most games could be 1080p. it looks like Sony did, and it looks like MS got cheap and did not.

We can enjoy games at standard definition too, but I bet you decided to throw money at a HD TV anyway.

microsoft didn't go cheap though there console cost more to make then ps4, they just made horrible descisions by focusing on making a all in one entertainment device, they decided early they wanted 8 gigs of ddr3 no matter how bad it would effect the console performance,.sony was orginially gonna jusy have 2-4 gigs of fast ram, cause of how expensive it was, and there main focus was on making the best gaming console, later they decided lets just put 8 cause the price has dropped significantly by the time the console was in final planning stages.

Yep framerate > resolution for me too :) I meant if all else is equal, I'll take the higher resolution.
