I compared Wii U and Gamecube library in its first year and Gamecube is crushing it... Also you are wrong about Gamecube not recieving biggest third party franchises, it got them...

please show me a list of this of all these sytem sellers, in gamecube first year, remember wind waker came out in 2013 except in japan.

Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Super Smash Bros Melee, Crazy Taxi, Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II,  Animal Crossing, Extreme-G 3, James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire,  Jikkyō World Soccer 2002(now known as PES), Resident Evil(ReMake), Super Mario Sunshine, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Star Fox Adventures, Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 and 2, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Resident Evil Zero, Metroid Prime, Mortal Kombat; Deadly Alliance, James Bond 007: NightFire... Notable games from November 18 2001 to November 18 2002... This does not include all the Maddens/NFL's, Fifa's, those Ea's hockey games and that stuff...

Wii U is getting wrecked by Gamecube in library department... So are you going to be in denial?

GameCube was also dealing with far harsher competetion, it didn't get cream puff competetion like 7 and 8 year old consoles.

You can make a similar list for the Wii U honestly ... New Super Mario Bros. U (previous entry sold 27 million copies), Nintendo Land, Pikmin 3, Game & Wario, LEGO City, Super Mario 3D World, Wii Fit U (previously sold 20+ million), Wii Party U (previously sold 10+ million), Rayman Legends, Sonic Lost World, The Wonderful 101, Call of Duty: Black Ops + Ghosts (biggest third party franchise for last 5 years), Assassin's Creed III + IV (third largest 3rd party franchise), Batman: Arkham Origins, Zombi U, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Scribblenauts Unlimited, LEGO City Undercover, Just Dance 2013/2014 (biggest casual franchise), Skylanders (biggest kids franchise), Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Wii Sports Club (biggest game of previous generation), Resident Evil Revelations, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Need For Speed, LEGO Marvel Superheroes, Mario & Sonic Winter Olympics (former 8+ million seller), Dragon Quest X (Japan).

Its all that and nice, Wii U has nice 3rd party support. But nowadays the exclusives dictacte mostly the sale of the consoles and not really the 3rd party developers like before... to me Gamecube is light years ahead. :P

better games, i can agree, but its a matter of opinion anyway but interms of system sellers, Wiiu>>>GC

Denial in this one is strong... I proved you wrong and you still force that Wii U is better than Gamecube in its first year when it comes to system sellers...

Super Smash Bros Melee is a launch title for Gamecube while Super Smash Bros U will be out more than year and a half after Wii U's launch, Wave Race: Blue Storm is a system seller also, you got Luigi's Mansion which was system seller for some, you got Crazy Taxy then Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rouge Squadron 2 that is an GC exclusive if I remember correctly and a big system seller. You have freaking Animal Crossing on Gamecube, two James Bond 007 games, two Resident Evil games in its first year and both exclusives at the peak of Resident Evil franchise! Metroid Prime at freaking launch, a huge system seller, Star Fox Adventures, another system seller... Gamecube has much better games and far more system sellers than Wii U. Stop being in denial, you are stunned about my statement... Right? Stop being in denial, Gamecube kills Wii U... It buries it. You can keep being denial, but the fact is that Gamecube is far better than Wii U when we compare it to game library, launch games, games in its first year, 3rd party support with a lot of major franchises...

Games that Wii U is getting next year will improve its sales by a lot most likely... if SSBM could sell few hunderd thousands of Gamecubes then it will be same for Super Smash Bros U. Don't underestimate the power of exclusives and specially well known franchises...

LOL you ok dude, how do you judge system sellers, i judge system sellers by looking at at what the previous game in the franshise sold, there are several games on the wii that sold over 10 million and there succesor are being released on wiiu, thus wiiu has way more system sellers. none of those games on GC even sold 10 million, and the only game that sold 10 million on n64 was mario 64 and it was bundled. your judging system sellers on your prefernce which is just wrong.

I'm not even going to attempt to estimate 2014 as a whole for the Wii U until the holiday boost dies down. The range into which it could settle is far too broad.

Assuming it hits exactly where I expect it to, 13 million units would likely be the highest it could realistically achieve over the next year. But since that figure is based off another figure with a wide margin of error, and also assumes no changes on the hardware side, I'm not sticking to it.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

I judge by looking at what audience it is appealing and not just sales...

You know that Nintendo will try to cater to core/hardcore audience, adults and that stuff.

You can't just focus on one audience since if that audience moves to something else then it spells bad news.

Mind you as someone who was actually around during the GameCube era I remember the exact same excuses being stated at the exact point in the GameCube's lifecycle, lol.

"We can't judge the GameCube yet! Wait until Zelda and Mario Kart! Those were huge for the N64!".

And just like NSMBU "doesn't count" (fanboy logic), people were also saying Mario Sunshine "doesn't count" because it wasn't a proper Mario. That may be so, but that's what Nintendo brought to the table by their own choice.

What's troubling about the Wii U is the lack of acceleration when it DID get better releases, by any estimation the last 4 months for the Wii U were pretty darn good -- Mario 3D World, Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, Sonic Lost World, Wonderful 101, Wii Party U, Wii Sports Club, Just Dance 2014, Assassin's Creed IV, Splinter Cell Blacklist, LEGO Marvel, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Batman: Arkham Origins plus a $50 price cut, better main bundle, and better TV marketing.

All that and all Nintendo has to show for it is a extremely weak 55k in October and 220k in November during the holiday ramp up. Trust me, there's not much joy at Nintendo HQ over this performance, it's worse than the GameCube's worst November ... even fall 2005 where the only "big" release it had was another Mario Party.

This is not indictive of a system that people love and are just waiting to get some games going.

if its selling it must be appealing.that list soundwave posted caters to everyone imo, you have platformers, shooters, party games, adventure games, sport games,  but anyway you can think what ever you want, i think your way off the mark, but its your opinion.

and people are expecting better sales next year xbone and ps4 will be in full stock, i just don't see it. i just don't see how how the wiiu is gonna explode in sales with mario kart and smash, when NSMWU and 3d world didn't do anything for sales and it's main competetion wasn't even on the market yet.
