I just watched Bayonetta 2 trailer and first came image of playing the game on Wii motion controls. Then I was like, what controller does Wii U actually have?Oh yea, gamepad is the controller..I don't really know that much about the console..

It looks pretty much same as Bayonetta, even same controls and he is playing ok.

So how good is Wii U gamepad as a controller, compared to current ones? Now that we have new controls for Ps4/One.

I played Bayonetta on hard few months ago again (epic stuff) on my Dualshock 3.I don't know better controller for that, tho almost threw one from a window in first few levels..

I haven't tried one yet, to me it just looks too dayyym big and hard to use in games like Bayonetta, where everything must be timed in microseconds.

I have used it for hundreds of hours in Mass Effect 3 and Wind Waker HD with zero issues. Doesn't take long to get used to having your hands spread further apart than usual.

Still, even if you were to experience any issues there is always the pro controller, which you will need anyway if you intend to play multiplayer games that require dual sticks.

I love it. Its light without feeling cheap... The only thing I kinda hate about it is the triggers are analog and when you shake the gamepad, it makes a rattling noise cause the abxy keys aren't really locked down. (It isnt an issue or anything, I just shat my pants the first time I heard it.)

The D-pad is really good though, better than ps3/360s imo. Not sure compared to the others, it defiantly gets beaten on the triggers department but a few youtube videos have said they like the d-pad on the wiiU better than on the X1. So I think its fine, depending on games though

Well, you can always turn the screen brightness down if it gets too annoying. Personally I tend to keep the GamePad (and any other controller I use) out of sight while looking at the TV though.

I am in love with it. Normal controllers always felt too small for me, the gamepad just feels right.
The worst is the battery for sure.

Pro Controller U is also amazing, it surpassed the xbox360 controller in my personal ranking. And has a incredible 80 hours battery.

i have cubital tunnel syndrome and big hands.. it's as comfortable as (even slightly more than) the 360 controller.  I can't use the dual shock 3, it's too tiny.  It's also more comfortable than tablets like iPad.  It's lighter and easier to grip.  I can hold it at the bottom with one hand while typing with the stylus in the other. Like i'm doing right now.

X button feels cramped next to the Right Analog stick for me, but I hope I'll get used to it.
