Yeah same here, I have a gaming PC, I don't need to deal with their bullshit. Sony made the right choice.
Well, the money is there for Apple to do this so it is possible.
Personally I cannot stand Apple and their various practices. Imagining an $800 console with $1 games filled with ads and micro transactions is the thing of nightmares for me. The only Apple product I have owned and been content with is my iPod. I really do not get the appeal of their other products and why people pay a premium for them.
Well apple maybe interested in buying sony but they will have to get in line after samsung. Two years ago i sold my shares in sony to samsung as part of a hostile takeover attempt. It never panned out but samsung hS been acquiring shares on sony for a long time.
Steve Jobs was a big fan of Sony, Sony is literally one of the few tech giants which wasnt involved in lawsuits with Apple. Its partly due to friendship but mostly due to Sony's long list of patents.
Big fan of Sony and Apple products(especially the clickwheel ipods and macbok pro retinas), if anyone was gonna buy Sony, I would want it to be Apple.

yes wasn't sony the 4th biggest patent holder in the USA?
Yes Steve Jobs admired Sony and Apple took inspiration from Sony when designing the iPhone but I don't think it will happen. There are too many factors to consider. This article is just a prediction.
This sounds like just as much speculative drivel as all the "who will buy Nintendo" articles. Clickbait, and ill-founded.
Only Sony's content-production units would have real value to anyone other than Sony. While it is quite possible for Sony to make their hardware divisions strong again, they are not so lucrative that it would be anything other than a nuisance for someone trying to buy Sony (a competitor, anyway, instead of Sony going to an equity firm in a hypothetical takeover). If someone in the tech industry bought Sony, it would lead to a quick, unceremonious scrapping of all hardware ops except possibly PlayStation (depending on if the new owner wants their own gaming line) and just absorb all that content production and distribution capacity.
But it's not like the article in question is anything other than clickbait
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
Not going to happen. If it was to happen, Apple could finally teach SONY how to make use of their digital contents. Something SONY was never able to pull off. SONY is huge. Movies, games, Music, you name it. Somehow their never utilized their tools and put them together to their advantage.
Sony would pretty much be dismantled if this happened.
Can't see Apple letting them make Android phones or PCs or anything that runs a non-Apple OS, those would be phased out for the standard iPhone + iPad + Macbook/Mac.
I do see the fit as far as Apple wanting an in to more content though, but I'm not sure that's really worth an $18 billion dollar price point.
Then again, Apple's got cash to burn I suppose.
