What do you think? How many do you think the PS4 will sell?

On the one hand, great for Sony if true.

On the other, this guy saying it means it's likely incorrect.

Yeah, it's good but not great to say it's the holidays. Goes to show as well the stock issues aren't as bad as some suggest.

I think it will sell over 100m but Its certainly too early to say its a given just based off of launch sales.

Dreamcast set launch records back in 99 and within 2 years was discontinued because Sega was in deep financial trouble. PS4 is settling records and Sony has been struggling financially so maybe the same thing happens. I doubt it will but its a possibility.

Also a few years ago Wii was considered a given to pass PS2 numbers then sales started to decline and its not even close to matching it now. So maybe PS4 starts out strong then something like Kinect 2.0 becomes a huge killer app and people start choosing Xbone over PS4 or maybe Steam Machines make it big and start hurting console sales or Smartphones/Tablets become capable of playing high quality titles and becomes the preffered choice.

So like I said I believe PS4 will pass 100m but there are too many variables to claim that its a given when the console has only been out for less than 2 months.

I know for a fact he was wrong about pretty much everything pre-next gen launch, and people say he is a "trusted insider" and "vetted insider" LOL. What a joke.

For an example, he stated as fact XBO GPU was downclocked terribly (to 600 mhz) for many weeks and hundreds of posts. It actually was later revelead to be upclocked to 853 mhz.

Like most GAF "insiders" he mostly exists to spread anti-Xbox FUD (all his "rumors" are pro-PS4 and bad news for Xbox, like all GAF "insiders" that arent banned). that's why he's almost always wrong and his track record proves it.

Not to say he couldn't be right this time, but please, people. His sources are only ever "people who PM him on message boards". In fact I used to converese with him and his claim to being an insider was that he was a former game tester, which is a very low position obviously. His only sources are people who PM him on GAF now.

You are dangerously close to a misterxmedia clone here... There are lots of people claiming to have insider access nowadays, whether he has or not is not that important. It is generally believed that either company can manufacture around 250k units/week, and both have been selling everything they make (one faster, one slower at the moment, who cares). Hence his prediction of 250k/week is a rather safe bet at this time.

I dont know if it's a safe bet in the USA though, which is what he said I believe.

On the other side, If you havent noticed all GAF insiders bring bad news for Xbox 100% of the time, I really dont know what to tell you.

The rest of your post is hilariously paranoid(are you misterxmedia?) but the bolded I agree with. He gets his info through pm's/skype convo's with industry posters he latched on to. He is recently banned for claiming that Persona 5 was gonna be on PS4, when people called him out on that he claimed that it was cross gen, but he never said that before the announcement.

The only real insider is Cboat, has been leaking stuff since 2004, all the others are non industry people, dependent on whispers they hear from industry people, Cboat is in the industry.
