Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why does everyone keep saying the reason why ps4 is better than Xbox one because its more powerful.

First off, there has been plenty of gaming consoles that were weak for its time that ended up being great like the ps2. Second off, no one besides Sony's first party studios are going to be able to take advantage of it. I was looking at these side by side graphic comparisions between xbox one and ps4 and can't tell much difference and the difference will be even less noticable to anyone else that is playing the game a few feet from the t.v. and not standing right next to the t.v. Surely this can't be a legit reason to prefer a console over another.

moar !!!!!!!!!!!!!! powa
Lessssssss!!!!!!!!!! moneyz

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I will give you the less money arguement.

While asking yourself that question; it should've been apparent why people say that. It's better in terms of hardware no? The question answers itself.

Because the theoretical GPU and bandwidth performance are the only things that set apart the PS4 from the XOne.

So, if you want to praise the PS4 and you can't give exclusive games, OS features, apps and so on, you have to say the GPU has more gigaflops.

why is the pc better then both because it is more powerful.. so why s the ps4 better then the xbox one because it is more powerful.. why is the steam box worse then everything its more expensive then a computer which is better.

and there is actuley a bigger difference then you think.. you must of watched it on youtube which is base 720p which is xbox downgrading the ps4 graphics and keeping xbox one the same. you need to change it. to watch the same video twice side by side one in 720p and one in 1080p. looking at the xbox screan in 720 and ps4 screan in 1080p ignore the the other 2.

or the video maker recorded them both in 720p.

the best video you should go off of is ign's new graphics were they showed ps4 in 1080p and xbox one in 720p with each video in shown in there respected graphics automaticley..

If there were a large power gap it would be a big deal, like the Wii versus last gen consoles or Wii U versus the new consoles. And even then, the Wii stuff is only a big deal if graphics are super important to you.

This is not a big deal.

What makes a great game system in my opinion is the features and game library.

Because the GPU is significantly more powerful, and it was recently confirmed the cpu is more powerful too.. And it has faster ram..

And I think a game running at 1080p vs 720p is a big difference.. And either way most games are ports from last gen.. And you will see a difference going forward

I will admit however, if the multiplatform games look significantly better (like comparing wii to ps4/360) then yes, that is a legit reason. But that is not the case.
