Hell no, TREASURE ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treasure_%28company%29 ) creators of Sin & Punishment should do Star Fox for Wii U.

Platinum could make a Custom Robo game, with more action and online battles, or just a new game.

I'm ok with that as well

I think they'll let them work on more side story things like Super Mario RPG and Hyrule Warriors. They have to since they don't have the resources to fully support their home console. And Third parties believe software won't sell unless there's a Nintendo character on the cover. This kills two birds with one stone.

Just have someone from Nintendo oversee their projects to make sure third parties don't do something stupid like make Mario into some kind of muscle bound space marine and everything should work out good for everyone.

They have 2 options:

1. Let other developers create the MAIN game of known franchises, like Sega with F-Zero, or Namco-Bandai with Star Fox. In this case, they should let Treasure take on Star Fox U, Sega take F-zero U and Next Level take Punch-Out.

2. Let other developer create SPIN-OFF games with Nintendo Characters, like they are doing with Tecmo and Hyrule Warriors, in this case I could see Mario Strikers U from Next Level, a Fire Emblem pure RPG from Atlus, a Metroid Tournament/Left 4 Dead kind of game from Valve or an Animal Crossing MMORPG from Sega

Ok, how about... Neverland ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neverland_%28company%29 ) or what is left of it, the developers of Rune Factory, Sega has more experience with MMORPG (the phantasy star online games) but maybe Neverland can pull it off.

There are two important elements at work with this:

A) Nintendo needs content. Alone, they can't produce enough games to counter the content difference provided by third-party publishers and developers on Playstation and Xbox.

B) Nintendo fans, in general, are bound to Nintendo by some kind of blood oath. Had Wonderful 101 been Mario's Heroes, it would have sold exponentially better. Third-party developers know this. Allowing them to apply Nintendo skins to their own games should increase sales of those games enough to make them worthwhile to produce. Disgaea on Nintendo? Sub-par sales. Mario in the Underworld? Millions of copies sold. Persona on the Wii U? A waste of time. Link's Summoning Mystery Adventure? Record-breaking.

Actually, the second one sounds pretty good ...

Why Platinum?, how many shooters have they created? they make great action games, but those have been more close combat action like Metal Gear Rising and Bayonetta, not spaceship shooters. Unless you want a Star Fox Adventures kind of game but with more action and combat in it.

I still say give Star Fox to Treasure, I am sure that they would create a great game at a very cheap price, and with some real $$$ behind it maybe they can create an epic scale game also.

Treasure is tiny, like 20 people and nowhere near able to make a big Star Fox game, they could maybe make a downloadable title, in fact I think almost all their recent games after Sin and Punishment were downloadable games.  On rail shooters are not the hardest games to make and I have no doubt Platinum could pull it off.  Actually I think Wonderful 101 had some on rail sections.

Yes to Treasure making Star Fox...

I've never played any of the Custom Robo titles, so I can't comment on that part, though it does sound like a style Platinum could pull off...

Have a nice day...
