I have an unopened One sitting in my basement since launch waiting for X-Mas. I got to thinking the other day that it might be a good idea to hook it up before X-Mas and download the updates and scoop up a few games so that on the 25th my kids can have a more streamlined experience. I'm wondering if, because of Kinect, the setup process will require me to be in the room that the console will ultimately be used in (my kids' room). I would really like to get as much setting up done as possible before that chaotic day. Thanks.



I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Do YOU have to be in front of your tv if your kids want to play xbox?? No

Do you have to re-configure Kinect again once you change rooms? Yes

Does it take a long time? No

I would just download the update, that takes the most time, the rest can be re-done in about 5 minutes

What games are you going to pick up for it?

Right off the bat, Ryse, DR3, Spartan Assault, Max:COB and probably Ghosts if they really want it but I don't know about that one yet. Oh maybe Peggle 2 also. There really are a lot of games that I'd like to play.
