I know not much is known about the game but it seems like it will be a hack and slash similar to dynasty warriors. If that's the case it will not be a system seller like a full zelda game would be. I'm a zelda fan (Majoras Mask being my favorite, then twilight princess, then OOT) and if I had a wii U I would probably not buy this game. It still looks a little cartoony and combat in Zelda has never been its strong suit. Hopefully this isn't the only zelda title being worked on for the Wii U because that would be really bad. I can see this game doing wind waker HD numbers maybe less. What do you guys think?

No Link, no buy.

Hyrule warriors is probably gonna be another flop.

If you're judging it based on typical Zelda numbers, it will probably be a failure, but it will probably make a decent amount of money, and it looks like it could be good fun.

It's not really aimed to be a system seller. It will just be a game that helps fill out the fall library and sells 1 mill or so worldwide I think.

Which is about 10x more than a regular Dynasty Warriors game would sell.

So Nintendo gets an extra notable game to fill in a release gap this year and Koei gets a way to sell the musou series on the Wii U. Win-win ... what's the problem?

If Mario Kart doesn't sell the system, then Smash or anything else are pretty much pointless anyway. Zelda (from EAD or otherwise) isn't doing anything if Mario/Mario Kart falter.

How did Four Swords do? I would guess similar number, maybe slightly better.

Nintendo said when they announced the game this is not Zelda U, it is something completely different.

To be fair... We thought Super Mario 3d World was going to be terrible based on the terrible e3 trailer but when it came out, it was zomfg jizz everywhere, so Idk yet... Granted this isn't Nintendo fully making the game but still... Dynasty Warriors is a fun game but I never thought of it being a game where Link would get involved but we will see...

Agreed.  It's not like Nintendo themselves are taking any time away from proper Zelda U development for this.

Besides, I think it could sell decently in Japan.

I think its going to be a solid 1.5 - 2 million seller. In Japan Dynasty Warriors is a massive franchise, while Zelda is much more popular in the US. Its going to draw interest from fans of both games and if the number of hits on the youtube video (550k already) already shows this. To me it just looks like a more accessible style Zelda game to people who dont like the normal dungeon/puzzle solving type games.
