Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Marvelous Interactive happy with No Mor Heroes sales

Part of the reason Suda 51's games have such a distinct artistic style is that Grasshopper uses a form of Cell Shading hides lower polygon and texture detail; as a result of this his games are inexpensive even by Wii standards, which means that the game becomes profitable off of very low sales.

No More Heroes is on track to being Suda's most popular (and best selling) game ever and there is a lot of reasons for Marvelous Interactive to celebrate.

That actually makes a lot of sense.  I wonder how Grasshopper can still be in business after so many not so well selling games.

While I don't mind the appearance of NMH and I'm not a big graphics whore, I would appreciate a higher quality cel shading and more variety in the sequel (which is looking likely).

Around the Network

Suda51 made Killer7 and No More Heroes with the graphics they have as his own stand against the expense of gaming projects, his aim, to show you that you don't need great graphics to make a great game. Unfortunately this is a little known fact about the excentric game developer.

We will get a sequel!!

Suda said he REALLY wants to make one, if they let him. With these sales on a lower budget... they are gonna let him.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
