Nintendo will release a free demo for Nintendo 3DS Japanese role-playing game Bravely Default: Flying Fairy on Jan. 2, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime announced in a Nintendo Direct presentation today.
The demo will include one of the game's side-stories, in which players will help with a major town's restorations. Item packs and 3DS Street Pass tags collected in this demo will be transferrable to the main game.
Fils-Aime also explained the game's Sleep Points system. Players will collect one Sleep Point for every hour the 3DS is asleep and can hold up to three Sleep Points at one time. These points can be used for various in-game functions such as reviving fallen party memebrs, healing and unleashing attacks above and beyond the damage cap. Players can also purchase Sleep Points through the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy will launch in North America on Feb. 7.
