Forums - Gaming Discussion - Did Xbox lose every advantage it had?

They lost some advantages, but to me they still have the big ones that will ultimately lead me to most likely purchase an Xbone over PS4:

- Dead Rising Series

- Gears

- Rare (I know they've been shitty lately, but I'm holding onto hope they can return to the quality of 90s Rare)

- Also, I have very little interest in most Sony games.. so there's that

X1 has more exclusives coming over the first year or two, just like last gen.

No it doesn't.

The Order:1886, DriveClub, InFamous:Second Son, Killzone Shadowfall, Uncharted 4, Deep Down, Knack, Planetside 2, Resogun..... and a lot more other exclusive indie titles and Free2play games

Planetside is not an exclusive game and most of those indies are timed exclusives. All of the F2P games are on PC.

I have to add though that the person did say in the next year or two so even if they are timed they will still be on the PS4 and not the XB1 in that time frame which means they can't just not be counted. And we can't throw PC in there because that would get rid of XB1 exclusives as well...such as Titanfall. So yeah in essence the PS4 DOES have more exclusive games coming out in the first year or 2.

Well DR3 is on XB1 but is the series going to be on XB1 going forth? I am asking because I have not heard anything about that or I missed it.

As for Gears I thought there were rumors about that going multiplat? Did that get shot down? Anotehr one I am not sure about.

The other two yeah I feel you on those!

As a note on popularity of the systems, I was just out X-Mas shopping last night and every single store I was at had several XboxOne's in stock but when I asked about the PS4 each store noted that they were sold out within an hours time of being put on the shelf.
I live in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul) area if this helps.

*To note, this may be better supply but the fact that they are still there after a weeks time leads me to beleive it is more about popularity.

So Titanfall is not either?, because it's on X360 and PC too. If Xbox one does not have Titanfall, which high exclusives remains for 2014??? Quantum Break and Halo 5 are the only ones that comes to my mind ....

I think PS4 is in better position than Xbox One for 2014. The only advantage Xbox one had over PS4, was launch games, and this has to be the worst advantage to have, because after 6 months doesn't matter so much.

In power, price, services, exclusives, ... PS4 have the upper hand over Xbox One.

Titanfall is not exclusive to Xbox One but it is not available on the PS4 and it will sell 100x as many consoles as Planetside or any of those other indie and F2P titles. Nobody is buying a next gen console to play indies and F2P. If people want that they can build or buy an inexpensive PC and play all of those games already. Halo 5 and Titanfall are two huge AAA IPs. Honestly Xbox One doesn't need any other big  IPs for 2014 to sell consoles.

The $500 price barrier is going to hurt sales a bit but when Titanfall launches Xbox Ones will fly off the shelves.

I don't think it will be a as much of a system seller as many believe it will be on here. In fact this forum is the only place I hear anyone even talking about titanfall. I don't know anyone in person who has even so much as mentioned it in my presence. I think more than likely it will be a popular among a certain crowd type of game, it will be loved, well liked but won't exactly have massive sales.

Gears will most likely be on PS4.

Dead Rising series lol.

Rare has been horrible since MS bought them. Its not like they just had 2-3 bad games, theyve been bad for the past 2 generations

@Metallicube - Why? Are they partnering up with Nintendo again?

Yes? You have a problem with the Dead Rising saga?
