I don't think you read my comment clearly. If someone were to say Sony knows the console market better than a forum dweller,  would you respond with talk about Betamax, Minidisc, UMD, Memory Stick, etc? And idk why you would throw the Xbox One in there. The market seems to be accepting it just fine.

See but that's the best you can come up with.  Sony created the personal audio market with the Walkman, they expanded the gaming market with playstation, and they are a market leader in cameras.  Everyone has there fair share of failures, but Sony comes up with great ideas just like Nintendo, Samsung, and Apple (Though I kinda hate Apple).

Microsoft made a good OS and Office product, and then throws money and every problem they see hoping that's enough.  They have publicly said they joined gaming to "Steal some of Sony's marketshare."  They didn't want to come up with anything innovative, just leech.

Your Walkman example is hilarious, considering IIRC Sony paid royalties to some company who had already patented and was already selling a portable cassette players? The rest is just you reaching for straws, grasping for some sort of legitimate argument to make.

Your anti-MS tangent is adorable and all but rather than take it seriously and respond to the rest of it, let me again ask, what does it matter? Does what Sony did in other markets somehow affect MS's knowledge of the gaming market? Does the fact that MS misfired on the Zune, somehow make a random VGChartz forum poster a better judge of the gaming market than them? The answer of course is no. I'll respond again if you want to address what I actually said and not some list of failures (which Sony and MS each have a long list of).

LOL I never said I was a market visionary, but I do know that MS is NOT.  I use Windows 8.1 and love it, but it was not what the basic consumer wants (Engineers love it!).  They are wasting their time in other markets which significantly weakening the one thing they do right.  Now Balmer is stepping down so I'm sure things will improve from here...

They're going to sell well over 80,000,000 360 consoles, have an extremely lucrative business model with Live (one that Sony is now emulating), and have a great selling successor on the market now. I think they know more about the gaming market than the guy I was responding to. I am afraid I cannot make it any simpler for you.

LOL and your argument just fell apart like a house of cards.  The Xbox division has been losing 2 Billion dollars a year (covered up by patent money).  In fact investors have been telling them to drop Xbox practically since it launched. No, they have no clue what they are doing.  Just go watch their Xbox One reveal to see their most recent blunder...

I believe Epic retained the rights to the Gears of War IP though.  After Judgment struggled for sales I think it's a good time for a break for the series.  I wonder if Microsoft will buy the IP and develop a new game or whether Epic will create a new multi-platform title?

Judging from Respawn's twitter reaction to Titanfall being a lifetime exclusive for Xbox One, it doesn't seem they have as much control over their IP as they would like.
