Great. You know, people have been saying that for years, I can't even count how man times I heard about how Sony is never going to release a console after the PS3 and how the company is on the brink of collapse, it's getting old. Sure, I think nobody is going to deny that Sony as a whole is not in the best financial position, but their gaming division is here to stay, they just gotta realize that the Vita is not a viable platform in the west and looking at how western support (aside from indie games) is dwindling, I'd say they're pretty much onto that.

Also it's hilariously obvious that you want to see the PS4 and X1 fail, just to feel better about the Wii Us mild reception, really mature buddy.

People have been saying it for years because Sony have been losing billions year and year, this is a fact. No company can sustain this, no matter how big they are and big companies fail all the time.

Kaz is a moron and hasn't listen to Loeb who wants to split up the company. Every attempt he has made to turn around Sony has not worked and only led to greater loses. Things are getting worse, not better.

Sold out everywhere in the uk. When they are briefly in stock it is now only the more expensive and retailer created bundles of console + several games for >£200 over the bare console price.

Cute. Now read what I wrote and tell me what that has to do with what I said, I don't remember saying anything about Sony getting better, I was talking about the gaming division not going away.

indeed, I find it quite odd that they're so available in so many countries yet they're still selling for upwards of 200euros more than retail price on Ebay at the moment.

That's nice and all but when exactly was the last time a company as big as Sony failed completely?

The SCE branch is making profit right now so what if they would just cut off the money losing branches and concentrate on the ones that are making money? Isn't that a possibility? I don't see the Playstation brand going down anytime soon.

Are you kidding SCE is one of the main reasons for hemoraging money. Atari, Intellivision, Coleco, NEC, Sega, Bandia, SNK are just dead brands gaming related brands.

Gut playstation division and get rid of it. Not profitable or needed.

Or perhaps more frightening, push Playstation Mobile to the forefront and have the company focus on smartphones, tablets, f2p, paid subscriptions, and micro-transactions.

Not pretty.

From the links you provided I can't read something about "hemoraging". In fact they have a very positive outlook for the new generation. While the PS3 is finally making money and will continue to do so for the next 1-2 years there will be a new revenue stream from PS4. All these articles you posted are from before the release. Let's just wait for the annual report next year.

Same and I can vouche for 7 Gamestops friends work at that they got enough stock to cover pre-order + and extra 25% to sell at door.

This seems like a myth used to justify low sales. Not sure how sales increse with no stock from 93k to 165k, its impossible.



Do you even know what supply constrained means? Every PS4 that is being shipped is being sold, basically going straight to the consumer. They obviously shipped more that particular week. PS4 also launched in more countries this week, So they have to ship to 48 countries now.
