That's insanely pathetic.

Please give your reasoning. It's not "insanely pathertic" for Japan standards, and It's insanley good considering Wii U used to sell 2k a week in Japan.

Guys. Give him a break for not completing his sentence properly.

That's insanely pathetic that it's not PSV.

Just because you are getting a 1000% increase in sales don't keep it from being low. The sales are still pathetic in my eyes seeing as how the system had a price cut while releasing a big AAA title. Really, Tbone51 ? Are you seriously gonna compare the WII U to other dying platforms ?!

Its a dead console so yes. Also its good sales, calling it pathetic is a bit immature.

Wii U did not have a price cut in Japan

@Everyone

So wait a minute Tbone51, your telling me that selling under 50k on a new console with a AAA title is healthy ?!

@EricFabian It really doesn't matter. Price is a notable issue but it's the games that are more important seeing as how vita tv flopped.

It's not 50k.

I rounded it, plus I don't think a 2k difference is that much.

And like a month ago Wii U was selling 2k a week, so it's a huge difference in my eyes

50k isn't low, for Japan standards. It's actually pretty good. Please understand, fatslob.

Selling just under 50k is extremely healthy, even with the release of an AAA title

It didn't just get a "AAA" title, it got an expansion to a game that came out ages ago, which as already a last gen port that released on the Wii last year, which already had low sales for its franchise.

And it didn't get a price cut either.

So neither of your claims hold water.

Clearly Nintendo is Doomed.

... Oh, sorry, I just couldn't possibly let a Nintendo thread go by without somebody declaring the Wii U to be "doomed". I figured that I'd do the job in here, since those who normally do will probably shield their eyes from this result, since it contradicts their worldview.

Anyway, it's more great news for Wii U in Japan, and more reason for Sony to be concerned - Wii U is taking off, and appears to be outselling the Vita routinely, now. Given that Japan is handheld country, and the 3DS routinely sells more than 100k a week there, Vita shouldn't be struggling compared with the perpetually-doomed Wii U. PSP certainly didn't struggle like this in Japan.

Note that I'm not proclaiming any sort of doom for PSV. Just saying that Sony can't be happy with that situation right now, whereas Nintendo is probably pleased as punch, as they say, about their sales numbers in Japan. Sony will either ramp up their Vita promotions and game releases prior to the PS4 release, or just hope for the PS4 in Japan to drive sales of PS Vita. Hopefully the former, because I wouldn't be very confident about the latter (given how home consoles have performed in general in Japan, I don't see the PS4 lighting any big fires in Japanese charts - a few small ones, maybe).

2k in Japan is terrible, which makes a 2k difference small. At the rate Wii U was going, it would have taken 6 months to hit what it did about a week ago.
