Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why do Nintendo fans think the gaming industry will die if nintendo aint leading?

This aint to every Nintendo fan. But alot of them keep sayin how HD is killing gaming and we are heading for a crash. I am sorry but that would not be said if Nintendo knew how to produce a modern console.

The PS3 did crap at a time. 360 did crap at a time. None of their fanbases said anything about a gaming crash. Its like with the Wii you got entitled and without a nintendo boom the gaming industry will die?

That train of thought seems silly to me as Sony has kept the console world alive for well over 17 years. I say 17 because we were still enjoying our megadrives and snes's at the time. Nintendo has more than filled up our boots for handheld systems.

I just employ you to see reason and stop complaining about gaming is dead.

Actually a lot of you newer members should look at historical data. You will realise that a generation is a very long time. A lot of things can happen.

It might be a if I cannot win no one can attitude.

Well... I doubt the gaming industry would die if Nintendo isn't #1... It might die if Nintendo leaves the gaming industry however...

And HD isn't killing the gaming industry... Its Endless amount of Microtransactions for $60 games, Shit ton of DLC and all these extra fees that people have to pay that they originally didn't and they don't have too much of an option to not pay them is whats killing the gaming industry...

Eventually people will realise... this is too much... and just stop buying games

Not in my experience at all. Most DLC that is worth anything is usually very different from the rest of a game. Much of it can add  more gaming hours to a gaming experience than a lot of games have entirely on their own.

Fallout 4 fuck yeah!!!

People said this? really ?

Links please? Just put them in the original post.

That's a bit of an exaggeration, but on a completely different note, the Videogame crash occured because of uncertainty of quality in the market. People didn't want to spend a small fortune on a game that was a heap of garbage and rushed through planning and development. Due to increase in game development costs, more companies are forced to partake in this once again in order to stay afloat (or make a quick buck on the mobile market). The consumer was usually protected by game reviews, but even they're starting to become unreliable...
